There were days where I was lost. I had no hope and no where to go or no one to put my trust in. Until him. He awakened me after I have been dead for so long and he assured me that I was going to be alright.

Charlie had gone back home after she had spoken on the phone with Sofia and she had another job, one last one to do before she was finally free from her. Although Sofia asked for the drive, Charlie denied everything.

It was eight in the morning when I woke up from a loud bang. Donovan's arm immediately wrapped around my waist as he pulled us up and walked me towards the closet door.

"What's going on?" I asked him. He didn't answer.

"Stay here. Do not come out until you hear no one and nothing, alright?"

"Donovan-"

"Alright?" He whispered harshly. I nodded as he opened the door of our closet before closing it behind me. The sound of the drawer beside our bed opened and I heard him load the gun we kept in there. As he stepped towards the door, I heard him open it before it was silent.

"Are you Donovan?" A woman's voice said loudly.

"I'm Sofia."

Oh no.

Flashbacks of my dreams flooded my mind. The gun. A shot ringing in the air. And Donovan's lifeless body.

I slowly walked down the stairs, stopping just above as I saw Donovan, Pierce and Vincent standing in the living room side by side as men dressed in black had their guns pointing at them. A woman sat on the couch as she looked down at the gun, reloading it as she had her eyebrows furrowed in frustration. It was Sofia Del Reyes.

"Oh Charlie? Come in," Sofia yelled, suddenly, a man walked in with Charlie by the arm as she had a cut on her bottom lip. Her arms were bruised and her shirt ripped by the side. Oh my god. What did they do to her?

"Oh Charlotte. This didn't have to end like this but you, someone I trusted, stole something from me. You lied," Sofia seethed as she stood up. Her long black hair was in a low ponytail as she dressed in an elegant black dress and high leather boots.

"You stole lives," she muttered. Vincent and them flinched when one of her men landed a blow to Charlie's stomach. I gasped but covered my mouth. I had grabbed one of the guns in the safe near the stair case and I grasped it in my hands as I took it off the safety mode.

"I saved you, you ungrateful little bitch. Where's the damn flash drive?" Sofia hissed as she pulled on Charlie's hair. Her eyes connected with mine and I winced. I saw fear and worry but I also saw a sorry face.

"She doesn't have it." I snapped my head towards Donovan as he glanced at me. He saw me.

"Donovan," I mouthed as I shook my head. What was he doing? He slowly reached into his pocket as he pulled out a black drive. My eyes widened and I shook my head again at him.

"I've put a passcode on this so its out there but you'll never get inside of it without me," Donovan informed her. We watched as Sofia ran her hands through her hair infuriated.

"What the fuck is wrong with people?" Huh. How ironic for her to say.

"Maybe you'll be useful after all," Sofia murmured. No. She can't possibly be taking him away from me now. I took a deep breath as I watched the three men standing beside her. Take a deep breath.. I placed my finger on the trigger and closed my eyes, making a quick prayer to whatever God was listening.
