A/N: Another cute picture!! ;)
A week has past and Foster hasn't seen me once. Surprisingly, none of my other friends have visited either.
When I wasn't sleeping, Elwin was helping me with my strength renewing process. Some of his medicine helped some muscles. As of now, I can move all of my arm muscles. Oh, and a few elixars fixed my jaw and mouth stuff, so now I can speak. So, I'm not a total complete loser after all!
I hear a timid knock on the door.
"Come in!" I shout, man it felt good to yell. Before everything was a strained whisper.
Sophie appears, a huge smile on her face, as she runs inside.
"Keefe! You're voice!" She exclaims, the look in her eyes make me feel embarrassed, being able to talk shouldn't be such a big accomplishment.
"No, this is a recording," I voiced like a robot, making her giggle.
"Sorry I couldn't visit last week, Verdi was having trouble sharing the pen with our new resident dinosaur--"
"Foster, don't apologize! Okay, I don't need your sympathy or anyone else'!" I shout, Sophie looks upset. "Sophie, I didn't--"
She puts on a fake smile, "No, it's okay. I-I understand. Well, Grady and Edaline are probably waiting for me, so um, see you later," She says awkwardly, sliding off of the chair by my bed.
"Sophie, wait!" I call after her, stupid legs! Why can't I just run for once? I try to get out of the bed and walk, but I fall down, hard. I try to swallow my cry from the pain. I want to punch myself. Why am I always so weak? I need to be strong! I should be strong! What happened to the guy who could beat the best agents when it came to fighting? What happened to the guy that could run while throwing ninja stars, perfectly hitting the enemy?
I take a deep breath, please be gone, please be gone. But no, she wasn't, she turned around after she heard the crash of my body hitting the ground. Now, she was on the floor next to me.
"Keefe," She warned.
"Shh! I am meditating!" I scold her. I squeeze my eyes shut.
"Come on, lets get you back onto the bed," Sophie says patiently. Trying to pick up my thin frame.
"Sophie no!" I say firmly.
"Keefe, it's okay. I'm not going to drop you!" She laughs.
"No, it's not okay! Can you just... can you just go. Please?" I plea. I don't want her or anyone to see me like this. Hurt is written across her features.
"Keefe, I'm just trying to help. You know you aren't suppose to leave your bed yet, and by the looks of it you can't get back up!" She sighs out of frustration, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Well, you aren't doing a great job at it! You're just making me feel worse," I sigh. "Just go, okay! I don't want to see anyone, so go away! Leave me alone!" I don't know where the sudden anger came from, but I just wanted her gone.
Sophie sets me on the bed, I don't say thanks, bye, or even look at her. She runs out of the room, and leaves me alone. I sigh out of relief. Once I know she's gone, I scream. I don't have a pillow to muffle it so I just scream in frustration. That's one way of letting it out, right?
My dad knows there's nothing wrong, he knows it's my 'manly' way of dealing with this. Screaming bloody murder. I have mixed emotions. I hated seeing Foster so upset, but I was glad to finally have her gone and out of here. I definitely didn't want her hear to see me like this anymore.
A few hours later my dad comes upstairs.
"Fitz's here," He says with a smile, handing me my dinner.
"Tell him to go away. I'm not excepting visitors today. He should have came around lunch," I grumble.
"Keefe, he literally just took time out of his studies to see you! Be nice, and just let him say hi!" My dad scolds me. Great, just great. First a round of Foster sympathy, now a round of Fitzroy sympathy.
I pretend to be asleep when he enters.
"Hey Keefe. It's me Fitz, I hope you're feeling better. I guess I'll talk to you when you aren't asleep," Fitz says walking out.
The next thing I know is that I'm drenched.
"Hey!" I shout, my dad is looming over me.
"That's what you get for pretending to be asleep!" He says, walking out of the room.
Fitz stares at me in disbelief.
"I guess now's not a good time," He mumbles, face ashen.
"No, it really isn't," I sigh, "Stop by tomorrow, though. I-I am just dealing with a lot right at the moment, and I'm really not ready to talk to anyone at the moment."
"Well, I hope you're feeling better," Fitz says as he walks out of the room.
I shut my eyes and hope that sleep comes to me.
A/N: Hey guys, another chapter! Enjoy! Also, Smg2ph asked a really good question. How often am I going to update? Well the answer is everyday until school starts. I'll have to look at my schedule and pick two or three days that I'll update on. When we have breaks, however, I'll update mostly everyday until the break is over! So I'll keep you all posted about this!! ;) Thanks for reading! Stay beautiful!! ;D
