I open my eyes and squint against the morning light filtering through the window. Wait a second, my room doesn't have a window! I sit up looking around. Then I remember yesterday. I feel a grin spread across my face. I look at my alarm clock that is sitting on my bedside table. It reads 6:30. "Crap!" I cry, jumping out of bed and running to my dresser. I had unpacked everything, which only took like thirty minutes. It pretty much was just putting away clothes and putting my electronics on my desk and bedside table.

I pull out my enderman-inside t-shirt, a pair of jeans, some underwear and a pair of socks. I pull off my sweatpants and shirt, as I don't really wear pajamas at this point, and pull on my clothes, grabbing my usual beanie and shoving it on my head. I speed walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth, rinsing my mouth with mouthwash after. I run out of the room and down the stairs, spinning as I run into the kitchen, where Adam is placing a platter of pancakes on the table.

"The beast has awoken from it's slumber," he says jokingly. I roll my eyes with a smile.

"My alarm didn't go off," I say defensively. I pull out my chair and sit down, putting three of the pancakes on the plate Adam had set out. "Thanks for making breakfast by the way," I add as he sets some butter and maple syrup down next to me.

"No problem, just make sure to fix your alarm," he replies. I smile as I grab the maple syrup and pour it over the stack of pancakes.

"I will."

I use a butter-knife to cut off a bit from the stick and drop it in top of my stack, placing the knife back down and picking up my knife and fork. I cut out a slice and my mouth waters as I bring it to my mouth plopping my favorite breakfast on my tongue. I'm surprised at how good it is. "Wow, these are amazing!" I say, quickly cutting out another bite and shoving it in my mouth.

He laughs, "I don't really think of myself as a cook, but thanks. And be careful, your going to choke."

I chew and swallow the deliciousness, then putting my hands to my neck, mockingly throttling myself as if I was choking to death. Then we both burst out laughing. It's nice to have someone that understands your sense of humor. I finish up the pancakes and then pick up my plate, getting up and bringing it to the sink. I run out of the room and upstairs, entering my room and grabbing my backpack. I grab my phone off the table as I walk out, and walk quickly down the stairs.

"Bye, see you after school!" I call through the house.

"Okay, see ya!" Adam calls from the kitchen. I open the big oak door, walking out of the house, shutting it behind me and walking down the five steps. As I walk down the steps I remember that the school is now four blocks away rather than two. I shrug. Whatever, it doesn't matter. Then that's when the thought hits me. Just because I met Adam and got rid of Andrew and Helen doesn't mean the bullies are gone.

I cringe. How could I be so stupid to forget? I continue to walk, my feet now dragging on the pavement, weighed down with the questions I'm too scared to answer. 'What will Adam say when he notices the bruises?', 'What will they do to me today?', and worst of all, 'Will they brake anything else?' They have before, a year ago, but I managed to keep it hidden and let it heal. It isn't as bad as it sounds. Then there's the cuts on my leg when I fell on some broken glass two weeks ago when Blake shoved me. For some reason they still haven't healed entirely.

What I'm afraid of is that they will reopen and the blood will bleed through my jeans. They haven't yet, but it didn't really matter in my mind before. What would Adam think if he knew what they did?

Just then Mother Nature decides to dump a ton of water on me. The threatening clouds begin to pour, drenching me in seconds. I start sprinting, ignoring the pain from the cuts, and in a matter of minutes, I'm running up to the school. As I jog across the lawn, I see two people ahead of me also heading towards the doors. Their faces are covered so I can't tell who they are. As I approach them one of them glances back and I realize who they are. Chelsea and Allison. Chelsea whips around and blocks my path. "Beat it, grub," she snarls, before pushing backwards.
