It's been a week, and were completely settled into the house now. Alison is staying in one of the guest rooms, and Xander has already met up with his parents. Tyler #2 came on the second day, and we started shoveling out everything. It still is constantly snowing, but not nearly as thickly. It's only a few centimeters every couple hours. The front walk and some of the pathways are dug out, and they have plows around here, so we could drive places. I unpacked all the things from my bag, and we went into the city and bought some other things. We have plenty of food, heating, water, and plenty of friends and family. We started up recording again. At this time, people need something to laugh about more than ever.
Adam tweeted out asking how many recruits had gotten to the southern states, and California in particular. The response was over a thousand people replying saying yes, either to both questions or the first. It just makes the chances of seeing fans here even more likely. Joyce, Gwen, Xander, Alison, and I have attempted coming up with a name for our group, in a way like Team Crafted, but something different. [Comment on this sentence with suggestions, I'm actually drawing a complete blank on what to call them] So far we've failed epically.
Other YouTubers have been posting videos about who's okay, or people from other countries saying that they're praying for everyone in North America. Even Felix [Pewds] was saying he hoped all his friends over here were okay. Now we have to just keep doing what were doing. YouTube is still, even after all of this, sending us money. At this point we pretty much are depending on it. We actually met up with a few other YouTubers, like Tyler Oakley and Jordan [CaptainSparklez]. It was awesome meeting them for the first time, and especially chatting with Queen Tyler [Yup I did it. Cause I'm fabulous b*tch]. It's still kind of annoying though, three Tyler's. We did vlog about it, and we had a great time at the stores and other random places [not that way you dirty perverts].
Right now I'm just sitting on my bed, looking back on everything that's happened to me. The one thing that on my mind though, and has bugged me all my life, is that I've never talked to my dad. I don't know what he's like, his favorite sport, what he does on his free time, what it would have been like if I'd grown up with him in my life. All I know is what he used to look like, from an old picture from almost seven years ago. It's broken me inside every second of every hour, of every day for eleven years. Now I finally want to do something about, it and now is the time that I can change everything. [This reminds me of the Day of the Doctor trailer speech, idk why] I get up from my bed and grab my phone from my bedside table before leaving the room.
I walk silently down the hallway, and I turn the corner and head towards Joyce's room. Slowly, I approach the door and reach out my hand, pausing in front of it and clenching my fist, before rapping on the door with my knuckles. "Come in!" I hear Joyce shout from inside. I grab the brass handle and turn it, and the door swings open. Joyce is sitting at her computer, playing on Happy Wheels, probably practicing for her gaming channel. "Hey, what's up." She says, taking off her headphones and pausing the game, turning to me. I take a deep breath. "What's dad's number, I want to call him." I say plainly, and she sighs. "I should have known you'd ask. She grabs her phone off the desk and turns it on, opening contacts. "His number's [Insert cell number here]." She says. I type it in as she speaks and nod thank you to her. "Thanks." I say, feeling something I think is excitement bubbling up in my stomach.
I walk back out of the room and press call. As I walk back to my room, I press the phone to my ear, the familiar ringing coming from the speaker. When I shut the door and sit down on my bed, I hear a click on the other line and my heart jumps. "Hello?" I hear a mans voice say. I start to grin so much my face hurts. "Hi dad, it's me Jessica." There's silence on the other line for a second. "Jessica? Really? It's you, oh my god, sweetheart I've missed you so much." I feel my stomach erupt with happiness. "I've missed you too dad." I reply. "By the way, Gwen and Joyce made it here okay, they left to find me." I pause and wait for him to reply. "That's great, happy to know they're not missing somewhere. Are you some place safe?" He asks. "Yeah, we're in LA, we drove over from Arizona." I say lying back on my bed. "Why were you in Arizona?" He says, confused. I sigh. "Long story." I respond, laughing slightly.
"So, are your fosters okay?" He asks. Of course he wouldn't know about them. "Actually, I'm not with them anymore, I hated them. Do you remember that guy, Sky, that Joyce would watch on YouTube?" I ask. "Yes, she was absolutely in live with him. Never could get her away from the computer screen while she was watching him." He says in matter of fact tone of voice. I laugh. "Well, we got adopted by them, and we moved down to LA in this big mansion with a bunch of other YouTubers." I say. He laughs on the other end. "That's great, hope you guys will stay safe. Don't worry about me, I'm safe in Florida." He says. I smile. "Okay, I love you dad, stay safe!" I say cheerfully. "Love you too honey, you be careful as well, bye!" He says. "Bye!" I reply and hit the end button.
I roll back on the bed and press add as contact on the screen, typing in "Dad" as the name. I press save and smile. At least he's safe even if he's thousands of miles away. I get up and run out of my room and down the stairs. I run to the kitchen where Adam is making himself a sandwich for lunch. I lunge forward and hug him tightly. "Whoa, well someone's happy!" He says laughing. I grin and let him go. "I just talked to my dad for the first time. He's safe in Florida." I say excitedly. He grins and hugs me. "That's great! I'm happy for you!" He says happily. I nod and run around the house, into the living area, flopping down on the couch. Thank you Joyce Maine.

So, this is the last chapter, the next is an epilogue. Sorry doods. :C
But, there will be a prequel. Yup, you read that right prequel! It's going to be all about Jess's life before she met Adam, starting at when she's thirteen. Three years before this book takes place at the beginning!
