Before The Storm
The day started off rather normal, besides the fact that we actually got to sleep in, for once.
I woke up before Iowa. I smiled. I walked over to her and shook her shoulder. She slapped my hand away. I sighed. I shook her again. "What. Do. You. Want. Nevada?" She growled. 'Just get up. You aren't going to spend all day in the room," I said.
When she didn't answer, I got the bright idea to just drag her out of her bed... literally. I grabbed her arm and pulled her off the bed.
"What was that for?!" She yelled, but I could hear her slightly laughing. I helped her up. She rolled her eyes at me. I chuckled. "Good morning, Iowa, Nevada," Omicron said to us, causing all the Ai's to appear, Zeta on my left and Chi and Omicron on my right. Eta appeared on Iowa's helmet, and Pi was on her shoulder.
"Thank you, Omicron. And the same to all of you," I said. Iowa nodded in agreement. After awhile, we took short showers and changed into different outfits. Both of us wore almost the same thing, besides the colors.
The sweat pants were mostly black, with our secondary color as a stripe on each side, bordered with white stripes on each side of the colored stripe.
The shirts were black, with our secondary color as writing, with white surrounding that. It read "Project Freelancer" with our name under that.
The shirts were long sleeves, so I immediately pulled them up. I hate long sleeves..
Alaska met up with us as we were walking to the cafeteria to get some coffee. We placed our orders, and in minutes had the delicious smelling liquid in our hands. We walked to the observation area to watch everyone go through their morning exercises. They were running.
Colorado (finally after not mentioning her in around four chapters) easily stood out from the rest of the group, with her pink armor. I smiled, taking a sip of my coffee. She was close to being in the lead, only a few feet behind Oregon, who was trailing behind Montana.
When they finished, they headed for the grenade training, which passed rather quickly. They exitted the room, Michigan and Oregon leading the group. They waved a hello to us, and went on their way to the next area, which was just working at a terminal. The schedules are hectic, It's usually impossible to know which day has what on it.. We put our coffee down on a nearby table
Colorado saw us. She looked straight at us. Oh, crap... I thought, just as I tried to move away. Too late.
She tackled Iowa and myself before either of us could get away. Alaska was the lucky one. "That's what you get for leaving us!" C-O exclaimed. She looked at all three of us. "Free time. Meet me at the locker room. During free time. Or else I'll hunt you down," She said, standing up, and left, leaving us confused as heck.
I stood up and rubbed my elbow. I kinda landed on it. "Umm.. Okay. We're back for one day and C-O is already tackling us. Can't wait to see what she has planned for us," Iowa said sarcastically. I smiled.
"Hey, at least we know that we were missed," Alaska said, walking up behind us. I chuckled.
"I just realized how sore I am. All that fighting took a toll on me," I said. Alaska and Iowa nodded in agreement. Iowa popped her knuckles, and I popped my neck.
"Seriously, how do you do that so many times in a day? Bow chicka bow wow," Alaska said. I glared at him, and didn't answer his question.
Iowa just shook her head. I picked up my coffee mug and took a sip. It was still warm. Good. Iowa and Alaska did the same. We followed the group of Freelancers to the terminal area, but just stayed at the door. No drinks were allowed in these, mostly because of Hawaii's... incident several months ago.
