Before The Storm

We were woke up early the next morning. The soldier knocked on our doors until we woke up, instead of entering our room and waking us up the more effiecent way.

I got up, and went to the door. "Yes?" I asked him. "Agent Nevada?" He asked. I nodded. "That's right. What do you need?" I asked him. "The Director would like to speak with you, Agent Iowa, Agent Alaska, Agent Michigan, and Agent Oregon," He said. I nodded.

"I'll wake up Iowa and Alaska. You go get the other two, okay?" I asked him. The soldier nodded. "Thank you, ma'am," He responded, not looking directly at me. "Your welcome. Not get moving," I said, lightly pushing him from my doorway. He walked off towards Michigan's room, which was all the way down the hall.

I turned toward Iowa, and sighed. Why do I even volunteer to wake those two up? Alaska's not a morning person, and Iowa can get violent. I shook her shoulder. "Iowa, wake up," I said. She shrugged me off. I sighed again.

I shook her again. This time she slapped out at me. I dodged. "Iowa!" I yelled. She sat staight up, then laid back down, probably dizzy from sitting up to fast. "Yes?" She asked, looking at me. "We gotta get up, Iowa. Go get a shower and get armored. I have to wake up Alaska, and you know how he is," I said. She nodded, getting up finally.

"I'll wait for you and Alaska. I'll be outside," She said. I nodded. "Kay. Thanks, Iowa. I hope he wakes up this time," I responded. She nodded. "Has he ever been a morning person?" She asked. I just shook my head. "Nope." I simply said. She smiled.

We left out room. I stepped to Alaska's dorm, and knocked on the door. After a few minutes, I gave up, and opened the door. He was sprawled out on his bed, the covers bunched in a few places. "Alaska," I called.

I ducked to avoid a pillow.

"Alaska," I called, a little louder. He threw another pillow. I sighed and yelled, "Alaska!" He sat up. "What?" He growled. I sighed. "Get up, and get ready. The Director needs to talk with all of us," I said. He yawned. "This early? Can't he wait an hour or two?" He asked. I raised my eyebrow at him.

"FIne, fine. I'll meet you guys there," He sighed. I nodded. "See you there," I said, leaving and closing the door behind me. I knew what he was going to do, so I reopened the door. He was laying down, again, his back toward the door.

"Ahem," I cleared my throat. I heard him growl. "Seriously? Did you really expect that to work, Al?" I asked him. "I hoped it would," He said with a sigh. "Get ready. I'll stay right here," I said, leaning against the wall, crossing my arms. He rolled his eyes, and sighed.

Iowa walked in. "What's taking so long?" She asked, looking at me. "A certain Alaska tried to go back to sleep. I'm staying right here until he's ready," I responded. She nodded. "Again, I'll wait for you," She slid down the wall until she was sitting on the floor with her knees up to her chest.

I did the same. I don't know what prompted me to think of this, but I did anyways. My mind drifted back to the day one of my team killed themself. Trying to remeber exactly how it happened... I gave up when Alaska came into the room.

"Are you finally good to go?" I asked. He nodded. "Yes, yes. I'm good now. Let's go before the Director gets testy," he said. Iowa and I nodded, standing up at the same time. "I hope you know it creepy when you guys do everything the same like that," He said as we walked out of the room

Iowa and I shook our heads, at the same time. "Like that!" Alaska exclaimed. We all started to laugh. We ran to the Director's office. The other two Agents were already there.

"Finally," The Director muttered quietly. He stood up from his chair, looking at all of us. We were standing in semicircle, facing him. "This meeting is more about Agent Alaska, Agent Michigan, and Agent Oregon, but I needed Agents Nevada and Iowa here for a reason. We need to implant the Ai units in you three," He said, glancing at the others.
