Before The Storm
Iowa, Alaska, and myself were all back into our armor on the thrid day of being back to the facility.
The Director had us, plus Michigan and Oregon, running different drills, trying to get us ready for the upcoming mission. He even told FILSS to lock down part of the facility for our training.
First we were practicing infiltration, being sneeky and getting past the marines without being caught. It went rather well. Iowa kept going invisible, but she stayed beside me. Alaska, Michigan, and Oregon stayed behind us. We all had paint weapons.
I was using dual paint magnums, Iowa has a paint shotgun, Alaska had a paint DMR, Michigan and Oregon just had paint magnums. We were also armed with smoke bombs and flash bangs. This is going to be fun.
Iowa and I took off about two minutes before the others, giving us a good head start, to possibly clear out any 'threats'. I was slightly ahead of Iowa, and the only way I knew that was because I was reading heat signatures.
Our objective was to get to the end, secure a package, then return without any 'causualties'.
The first few turns were easy. No cameras.
Iowa and I rounded one corner. I bent around it, trying to get a look as to what was going on. One camera, end of hall. I immediately did a thermal scan, and found a terminal that controlled the cameras on a hundred meter vicinity.
"How much longer can your invisibility hold out?" I whispered to Iowa, who discarded her invisibility for a minute. "From here... about twenty minutes, if Eta and Pi don't quit helping me," She whispered back. I nodded. "Good. Down this hall, and to your right is a terminal that control the cameras, and a single guard. I need you to head that way, take out the guard, and disable the terminal, using this," I whispered, handing her the virus infected chip that will disable the terminal.
She nodded, and disappeared from my sight. I turned my thermals back on, and saw her go past the camera. It didn't detect her. Good. The guard was turned away from her, and she shot him in the back of the head with her shotgun.Paint covered his head. She inserted the chip, stayed for a few minutes, then gave the thumbs up signal.
By that time, Michigan, Alaska, and Oregon caught up. I ran to catch up with Iowa, the other on my heels. "Zeta, time elapsed so far?" I asked. "Ten minutes, fifty-three seconds and counting. Good pace so far. Keep it up," He said, his figure disappearing off my shoulder. I nodded.
I dragged the soldier into the nearest closet, and locked the door from the outside. After that was done, I said, "Move out," Iowa and I took off, faster than the others.
We made our way out of the 'dead zone' and approached the next live area. "Sensitive area. Motion senser cameras. Best course of action if either Iowa go invisible and move slowly, or Nevada use her speed enhancement and get past it," Eta said. Iowa looked at me. "You go in. I don't know how long my invisibility will last past here," I just nodded.
The speed unit activated, and I took off toward the terminal. There were three guards stationed there. I took two out at the start, and I kicked the third one into a wall and shot him. I jammed the infected chip into the terminal, and rolled behind a corner, so the camera wouldn't catch me.
The chip did it's job, and I let out a small sigh of relief. I walked around the corner and motioned for the others to meet me. Before we left, Iowa, Alaska, and I dragged the bodies into another small room. We shut the door.
"Alaska, Oregon, Michigan. You guys lead," I said. They looked at me, but didn't protest, and took the lead. Iowa and I kept behind them, still in eye sight. They approached the live zone.
