Before The Storm.
"Agents Montana and Colorado will be accompanying you and your team on the retrieval mission. You will need as much fire support as possible," The Director said to Iowa and I. Alaska and Michigan were preparing for the mission. We would be taking off tomorrow morning.
"Yes, sir," We said. "Do you have any questions?" He asked. "No, sir," We answered. He nodded. "I need you to inform Agents Colorado and Montana that they will temporarily have their armor color changed to a... darker color. This mission has to focus on stealth, and bright colors are not tolerated. For now, they will be given steel colored armors, and their primary color as detail. Are we clear?" He asked. "Yes, sir," We said. "Then you are dismissed," He said. Iowa left first, and I followed behind her. "Agent Nevada, do not be blinded by your thirst for revenge," He said. I nodded, looking back at him. "I won't, sir," I said, and left his office. The door closed behind me.
"So we're having a team of six on this one... Maybe we can actually keep the team this time," Iowa said, popping her neck. I nodded. "Any idea on what weaponry they're giving us this time?" I asked. She shrugged. "No idea. We can check in the hangar, if you want," She said. I nodded. We made our way to the hangar.
"Hey! I was wondering when you two would show up!" Alaska exclaimed from across the room. Iowa and I waved at him. He turned away to tell Michigan something, looked back at us, and waved us over. We walked over to him. "So, what's going on with the mission? They haven't told us anything," Alaska asked.
"Montana and C-O are coming with us," Iowa said. Michigan and Alaska nodded. "So that's why we got a weapon shipment in for them. I just figured that they were going on their own little op. Apparently not," Michigan said with a slight laugh. I smiled. "What weapons did we get in?" Iowa asked.
Alaska motioned us to a group of six containers. Each of them were marked with our names. "Go ahead and take a look in them," Michigan said. Iowa and I nodded. I crouched, and opened the container with my name on it. It contained two SMGs and a M6C/SOCOM pistol, which is longer than a normal magnum, is black, and is quieter. My favorite.
"At least they gave me my Energy Sword again. And my shotgun. I'm happy," Iowa said. I smiled. "They changed your load outs again, didn't they?" Iowa asked. I nodded. "But I still like this. Actually, this is my favorite one so far," I said. We probably have the largest armory, and it's because they keep sending new weapons and ammo over here. I chuckled.
"Agents Nevada, Iowa, Colorado, Montana, Alaska, and Michigan report to the Director's office," FILSS announced. We all sighed. I stood up, and my knees popped. Iowa chuckled. We walked to his office. How many times do we have to go to his office? Iowa and I were already there twice today. What now?
"Agents, I called you here to say that you are leaving. Right after I dismiss you. The pilot will drop you approximately ten klicks south of the compound. You will have to hike the rest of the way. Are we clear?" He asked. "Yes, sir," We all replied. "Good. Dismissed," He said, turning around, and sitting back at his desk.
We left his office, and rushed to the hangar, once again. We took our weapons out of the containers, and boarded the pelican. "Montana, C-O, you hardly ever work with us. I know you know what Mark and Sync are, but I need you to say Sync when I say Mark," I said, taking my seat beside Iowa. "Got it," They said.
"Mark," I said. "Sync," They said. I did this for a few seconds, then, to confuse them, said, "Sync," It didn't stop them, and they repeated "Sync," I chuckled. "And... you fail. Just kidding. Good job. Better than Iowa, at least," I said. Iowa punched my arm. I just chuckled.
"So we're hiking about ten klicks. So about ten kilometers, or about six miles. And from there we have to search a whole base, which I'm betting is around three miles walking. Damn. Hope we're prepared for some walking," Montana said. I just smiled.
