Chapter 7: Murder Mystery
I was walking one afternoon with Amy. When Amy and I arrived to my hotel room, we saw clothes on the floor and the window was open. I called my mom and asked her what happened. She told me that she had been at work all day. I called the manager of the hotel and he said that someone must have broken in while we were gone and that he would check the security camera's. That's when I had a thought! I called my mom and asked her if we had security camera's at our old house. She said we did and that the footage should be on the computer. I went back to October 21. I checked out the footage from my moms room. It showed my dad talking to a guy, but I could not see his face. The guy looked like he was mad than he grabbed my dad by the neck and strangled him. I felt my heart racing, but I continued to watch. He laid my dad on the bed and then started looking through this stuff. When the guy heard me coming he ran out the door. That's where I paused it. I could feel tears running down my face then I remembered that Amy was there. She looked traumatized. Finally she reached for a hug telling me she was sorry, but she wasn't the one who murdered my dad.
When my mom got home I showed her the video. "Oh my Gosh, we need to call the police" she said in a soft but angry voice.
"Yeah, I know" I replied
"You girls go down to the beach and relax, I'm going to call the police" my mom said to us.
"Ok" than Amy and I grabbed our beach bags and left. I took a deep breath and relaxed.
When Amy and I got down to the beach, we ran into Shane.
"Hey" I said in a nervous voice.
"Hey" he replied "have you heard of the dance coming up at the hotel?" He asked me
"Yea, what about it?"
"Well, I was wondering if umm...... You could possibly, I don't know... Go with me?"
I smiled at him and then replied, "I would love to" in and excited but cool voice.
"Great, it's a date" he said as his face turned red. I felt joy inside of me, but I kept my cool in front of him.
As we were sitting on sand Amy started to sing, "Lacey and Shane sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G"
"Shut up" I replied which a faint smile on my face.
When I got home, my mom told me that they are working on finding more information and that we just need to carry on life without worrying.
