Chapter 22
Tammy's POV
I was too damn furious to speak to anyone right now. So, I just locked myself in my room. I just couldn't believe Blake would be that cruel. One day he admits he likes me and then the next I find out he's hanging around with the popular jerks and lip locking with the evil witch. Ugh! Why are boys so confusing?!
I decided to think of ways to forget what he did, but nothing would work. I tried jogging, watching scary movies, and eating ice cream yet nothing good came out of this. All it gave me was one hell of a stomach ache and constant nightmares about the scary monsters from those movies.
It has been days since the incident. I started to pace back and forth in my room, thinking of ways I could somehow find out what triggered Blake to act this way. I stopped dead on my tracks as I thought of something. I face palmed myself. Why didn't I think of this days ago?
I got my phone and dialed the one person I knew who could most likely find out about anything that has to do with Blake...
His best friend. Tommy.
After a couple of rings, I heard Tommy's humorous voice speak up. "Oh hey, Tammy. What's up? Did you miss m-"
I cut him off as I fired series of questions for him to answer. "Tommy, do you know what's happening to Blake? Do you know who called him the night of our date? What's going on with him? Is he having problems?"
"Okay Tammy, breathe. Slow down, one question at a time please. I can't even understand a word you're saying." He chuckled.
"Tommy, I'm serious. Do you know who called him the night we went out?"
"I did."
My eyes widened at his answer. "What? You called him? What did you say? Why is he acting the way he is acting now?" I asked.
Now that I knew it was him who called Blake. I was so piqued with curiosity. I wanted answers and I wanted them now. He explained everything to me as I listened attentively to what he was saying. My mouth was agape the whole time. As soon as he finished explaining, I got all the answers that I wanted...
I understood now. And I couldn't help but feel sorry for Blake.

Blake's POV
(Starting off the night of their date)
I was about to kiss her. We were centimetres apart now, our breaths fanning each other. I could see her closing her eyes. I was about to lean in for the kill but my phone suddenly rang. I was having second thoughts whether I should answer it or not. Tammy must've noticed this since she told me to answer it. I mouthed a quick "Sorry" and went on to answering the call.
"Dude, this isn't the perfect time to call me you know."
"Where are you? Are you out?" Tommy asked frantically.
"Yeah. I'm on a date. Why?"
"Your mom was rushed to the hospital. She had a heart attack and the doctor says she has been having series of heart attacks in the past but this one seemed to be the worst." He explained.
"What?! Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I screamed angrily at Tommy.
"Listen bro, I didn't know until now. I promise. If I did, I would've told you. Calm down and get your ass over here. The doctor says your mom's condition is critical." I hung up after those sickening last words. I was filled with appalling emotions, anger, guilt, misery, and sorrow.
