Chapter 21
Tammy’s POV
I woke up feeling happy. I was even excited to go to school today and that was totally new since I was never excited for school before. I was singing in the shower which again, was something new. I was back to the usual happy-go-lucky girl everyone knew before I even met that jerk, Derek, along with my other jerk ex’s. And all these boils up to one reason and one reason only…
Blake.
I smiled as I thought of our date last night. Starting last night, every time I think of Blake, I get this giddy feeling of excitement. I’d feel butterflies in my stomach and I’d blush immensely. I know I’m being such a girl about this. But who wouldn’t? Blake wasn’t only good looking and caring, but he also has this bad boy image which makes every girl swoon.
I was all ready to go to school when I checked the time – I was two hours early. So I decided to kill time and login to my Facebook account. My eyes widened at the notification I just received.
Blake Aaron Michaels sent you a friend request.
With no hesitation, I accepted his request and did a little stalking. No, snooping. Stalking sounded way too creepy. I went to his profile and immediately drooled on his profile picture. It was taken last summer, a candid photo of him surfing. And boy, did he look yummy. The perverted side of me whispered at the back of my mind.
I checked to see his last status days ago. My heart skipped a beat as I read it…
Finally asked out the girl I like on a date. And guess what? she said YES! Take that, Tommy! :p
I chuckled at how immature that read, but at the same time found it sweet for him to really say it in public. But why hasn’t he updated his status recently? I wondered at the call he received last night. Could that be the reason why? Who could that be? What could that person say to make him act that way? So many unanswered questions…
I was brought out of my deep thoughts when my phone rang. Zoey was calling me. I smiled knowingly. She wanted to get some juicy details of my date last night. Typical Zoey.
“Hey Zoe, what’s up?”
“Oh, you know the usual. Now, stop asking about me and start talking about how your date with the hottest guy in school went!” And that’s Zoey, very straight forward. I grinned as I told her every single detail there is to know.
“Oh my god, Tam! You are so lucky! I wish I was you right now!”
“But there is one thing that’s worrying me though, our date ended early because Blake got a call from someone. He was really mad and I don’t know why. And he hasn’t even called or texted me today.”
“Well, maybe he’s just busy. It’s okay, he’ll call soon.” Zoey comforted.
I hope so… “Yeah, I guess.” I looked to see the time when it read, 8:30. Wow, time really flew by fast. “Hey Zoe, got to go. See you at school. Bye!” I hung up as I made my way downstairs and into the kitchen where my mom was.
“Hey, mom!” I greeted, kissing her cheek.
“Oh, hey honey. Have some breakfast before you go to school.” She offered.
“Nah, I’m not hungry.” I saw her face fall into a disappointed look. We barely spend time with each other these days. “But you can drive me to school, if you want?”
Her face immediately lit up. “Okay, I’ll get the keys!” You see, my mom has always been the sister/best friend type of mother for me. Sometimes she’d be all motherly and strict, but at the same time, she acts like the sister I never had.
