Chapter 26
BLAKE'S POV
This is it, I said to myself. It's now or never. Set aside your pride and just apologize to the girl you love. Stop being a prick, get it over with and just make up with her already.
My heart was hammering so fast I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was currently in a secluded room with Tammy while she was in a far corner of the room, silent, not even saying a single word or acknowledging my mere presence. We were both alone and the doors were all locked. The silence was deafening, the awkward tension was looming around this overly dull and noiseless room.
If you're wondering how we got here, here's how it all happened days before...
I was beyond motivated thinking about the things my dad and I talked about yesterday. It was one whole day of man-to-man talk with him which totally paid off because that's when I finally realized what Tammy meant to me and what I've been doing to her was truly shitty. But this time, with everything my dad said, I knew what I had to do – I had to get her back.
"Go get the girl who makes your heart beat ten times louder and when you do, never let her go."
Those words from my dad were encrypted on my mind and I'm sure as hell that's what I'm going to do. If ever I get Tammy back, I am never letting her go. With that being said, I called up my best bud, Tommy. I knew he would be willing to help me out since he was the one who kept on nagging about me getting back with Tammy ever since I messed up.
It took a couple of rings before I heard Tommy's ebullient tone on the other line, "Sup, lover boy?"
"I need your help," I said, cautiously picking out the right words to say. "I, uh, I need your help to get Tammy back."
I heard a faint sigh of relief on the other line, "Finally! Took you long enough to come to your senses. Seriously man, Tammy is a great girl and you were letting her go because of your petty excuses and replacing her with the slut of the century. You know if you didn't decide on it now, I would've been the one to sweep her off of her feet at this moment."
My eyes widened at his confession. "Dude, are you serious?"
"I'm kidding, you ass. I wouldn't do such a thing to my best friend. She's all yours, man. I've got my eyes on someone else," he said, chuckling. Those words definitely reassured me, seeing that he likes somebody else, maybe my suspicions of him liking Tammy weren't true. Maybe.
"Great. So, are you going to help me out or what?" I asked him, anxious and hopeful all at the same time.
"Of course, man," he answered. "What do you want me to do?"
"Get me alone with Tammy,"
"Easy. Done," he replied simply. I could feel him smiling smugly on the other line. "Oh, and it will definitely be a surprise since it will happen when you least expect it."
"What do you m–"
The line went dead and I was left wondering. What did he mean by it will happen when I least expect it? Damn it, Tommy and his riddle-like words. He better make this right or he'll definitely get something shoved up his sorry ass.
Why am I suddenly nervous?
Holy shit, I'm turning soft. Man up, Blake! I scolded myself. Moving on to my next plan for Operation get Tammy back – is Phase One – I have to return to my normal self once again. After finally realizing that, there was something I had to do first before I move on to Phase Two.
