My Light Within The Darkness (Yami x Yugi)

Chapter 3

**Hello all! I am here with another chapter for this and I am very excited for this story to really get going. I hope you all are enjoying this one. It has become one of my favs. I'll let you guys get to reading and I am adding OCs to this chapter.**

Yugi's POV

I wake up with a very stiff neck. I rub it a little and look around. Everything is so clear for it being dark. I can see everything. Wait a minute. Where am I? It then dawned on me what happened. "Oh gods no," I say. "Well kid. I take it you realized what happened to you," says a guy who is now standing in the doorway. "Who are you," I ask. "I am the one who saved your life. You can call me Caius," he says. "Ok, can you explain to me what exactly happened," I ask. He nods. "What is your name young one," he asks.

"Yugi," I say. "Well Yugi, I saved you from being viciously ripped apart by rabids. I had to change you into my kind in order to do that though," he says. "Wait so am I a vampire," I ask. He nods. Wow, I have become the thing that I have despised since they took my Grandpa from me. "I know it's a lot to take in and that you are overwhelmed, but you need to start training immediately," he says. "For what," I ask. "I need to train you how to use your abilities, take care of yourself, and how to fight," he says. I nod at him. "Wait are we still in Domino," I ask.

"Yes, we are still in your home city," he says. "Will I be able to go back and see my friends," I ask. "I don't recommend it. Look at what you have become. They will kill you on the spot," he says. "They would immediately recognize that I would never hurt them," I say. "You are saying that now, but wait till the hunger sets in. After your body has exhausted it's own source of blood," he says. "I already know that is something that I will have to learn to control," I say. "Look I can see that you care deeply for them. If you were to go back now, you could kill them in an instant and not realize it," he says.

"Then train me so that I have a minimal chance of hurting them," I say. "Alright, but it will take some time," he says. "I don't care how long it takes," I say. He nods and motions for me to follow him. We walk into a room with a fridge. I raise an eyebrow at it and he pulls out something. "Yugi, take a deep breath and take in the scent," he says. I take a deep breath and was hit with an intoxicating smell and my throat felt like someone had lit a fire in it. "What is that," I ask.

He pulls out the blood bag and shows it to me. "You are going to have to learn to ignore that feeling in the back of your head that tells you that this is your prey and that's it," he said and handed me the bag. I look at him and he motions for me to drink it. I bite into the bag and the taste is unlike anything I have ever had. I gasp after I finish the bag. "That tasted," I say. "I know. It tastes even better fresh," he says. "I feel this strange surge of energy," I say. "That would be the blood kicking in. Aren't you feeling like going into a frenzy? Like you want to go kill every human you come into contact with," he asks.

"No why would I want to do that," I ask. "Well judging by the way you're acting, one of your abilities is the ability to control your bloodlust a little better," he says. "So it won't be as big of a problem," I ask. "Not if you don't make it one. Come on there's more to learn," he says. We reach a point where the floors atop the building had caved in and showed a hole all the way to the basement. "Jump to the top floor," he says before jumping. "Ok," I say and jump. I surprised myself when I shot all the way to the top. "Woah," I say.

"Yes, you will need to begin to exercise control over your strength and speed," he says. "Alright how am I going to do that," I ask. He motions to a dummy he has. "This dummy is rigged to be about as durable as a regular human would be. Go ahead give it a hug," he says. I look at it funny before giving it a hug. I let go and see it bent in a little. "Gahh," I yell. "Not surprising that you used too much strength. You would have crushed the human. With time you will control it," he says. I nod and he motions to another dummy. "Try again," he says.

I give it a hug and it wasn't dented in quite as bad. "Good. You would have only bruised the human. Proper control will come to you with time," he says. "Ok, at least I have a start at it," I say. "Alright come on," he says and jumps back down to the basement. "Land on the balls of your feet. It should be instinctual," he says. I jump and land quietly on my feet. "Good, you're picking up on things quick. It's time for you to pick a weapon," he says and starts walking. "What do you mean by that," I ask as I follow him down some stairs till we reach a hole in the floor.

"Every vampire has a weapon that they choose to master. Some master all kinds of weapons. Mine is knife throwing," he says. "Wow that one sounds interesting. Doesn't sound like the one that I would want to master, but I'd like to learn about it," I say. He smiles. "Of course I'll teach you what I know. I know most weapons with knife throwing as my specialty. It is good for you to want to learn about more weapons as sometimes your weapon of choice isn't around," he says. We jump into the hole and walk down a tunnel till we reach a door. We go inside and I am shocked.

There is enough weapons in here to arm an army. "Wow, how is all of this down here," I say. "Well the master vampire confiscated all weaponry from the humans and brought it down here to store. They won't notice if a few are missing," he says. I walk around and look at all the weapons. Nothing really speaks to me till I spot a katana. I pick it up and unsheathe it. I run my hand down the blade without touching the sharp part. "A very nice choice. The katana is a very lightweight but lethal blade," he says and grabs a few more as well as some belts with throwing knives in them.

"Let's go. We will start your training immediately," he says and we go back upstairs. He puts down the belts and grabs one of the katanas. "Ok one of the first things you gotta know about this weapon is that technique means everything. Think of the blade as an extension of your arm," he says and points the blade out. He gradually runs me through all the techniques and movements before calling it a day. "You have worked hard today. Tomorrow I will help you tap into your abilities that lie dormant within you," he says. "Do all vampires have abilities," I ask. "Most do, some are more powerful than others. Some vampires are just stronger or faster than others," he says.

"I wonder what mine is," I say. "I have a hunch. But we will find out tomorrow. You've been through a lot today. It's time you got a proper rest," he says and guides me to a room. "This will be your room for as long as you're here," he says. "Thank you," I say and he walks out. I take a deep breathe and look at my surroundings. It's a small room with a bed, dresser, and bedside table. I look in the dresser and find clothes that look to be my size and surprisingly my style. There are also leather bracelets and chokers in the dresser. I'll have to thank him later. I look in the bedside table and find a journal.

There's a note. 'Dear Yugi, I found that writing down my experiences in a journal helped me compartmentalize better. I hope that it works for you too. This is my gift for you to welcome you to your new life. I have high hopes for you that you can turn this race around. From Caius' That was nice of him. I pulled out the pen and started writing down in my journal the events that lead up to me getting into this life. I wrote about my training and then I started writing about Yami. His eyes, his voice, the way he knew how to cheer me up. I put the journal aside and choked back a sob. Who am I kidding? I can't hold it back anymore. I lay in bed crying because I can't see him and because he probably thinks I'm dead. I cry until I finally fall asleep.

**There's another chapter! I am also toying around with the idea of doing a fic on the events after the ceremonial duel. The main thing would be that Yugi's father turned out to be the current Pharaoh of Egypt and that he passes away leaving the throne to Yugi. Yugi didn't know who or where his father was and had no idea that he was heir to the throne. He then assumes the throne in honor of his father and Atem. I already have a synopsis in mind so I might start that at any time. Thanks guys for reading!**
