Harry POV

We were walking, and we have been walking for what felt like hours now. Liam is carrying Niall bridal style, we offered to just levitate Niall, but Liam felt uncomfortable looking at the lifeless floating body of his best friend. I understand that. We couldn't teleport to the Shrine because it was risky according to Blaine.

"When we appear there, there might be some "unwelcome" guests" Blaine had said.

Apparently Alterius isn't as abandoned as it used to be, all of a sudden there were henchmen, Shapeshifters and Jake's Elementari roaming the world. Blaine still didn't know why that was, and that worries me.

"We're almost there" Blaine said, pulling  me from my own mind. I noticed that we were walking uphill, it must be on top of this hill.

I was right.

When we arrived at the top of the hill, it was completely flat, like someone sliced the top of the hill. It was also perfectly circular.

In the middle of the hill stood a big purple crystal, and I mean big. Bigger than me actually.

Around the crystal were 4 pools, placed so that they form an exact circle around the crystal.

One of the pools was filled with crystal clear water, it was the clearest water I've ever seen! It actually looked a bit magical. Like it was unnaturally clean.

Next to that, was a pool, but instead of water, the entire pool was filled with calm and serene flames. They didn't look like they could burn you at all, but given the heat that radiates off it, I think it actually can.

Next to that was a pool filled with what seemed like marble. Anyway it was the smoothest kind of rock I've ever seen. I know it's a rock because I just get that vibe, it's weird, I can't really describe it.

And last, was a pool filled with nothing. Absolutely nothing. I walked towards the pool, curious. I reached out my hand to stick it in the pool.

"Harry careful!" Blaine warned but it was too late.

I stuck my hand in the pool and it felt like it was pressed together. Completely crushed, by something I can only describe as an invisble tornado like force.

"That's the Airpool! You can't see air but inside that pool is the strongest wind you'll ever experience" Blaine scolded. He walked over to me and grabbed my hand.

I hissed in pain as a jolt of searing pain shot through my entire hand.

"Great" Blaine said sarcastically, now you've broken your hand too, seems like you have to join Liam at Susan's after this"

"Sorry" I mumbled looking down.

"This is the Shrine" Blaine announced, gesturing to all the pools and the crystal.

"Nobody knows how it works, or how it was created. But we know what it does. When an Elementari has used too much Chi and is close to death" He looked at Niall, who looked even paler than before.

"That Elementari can be placed in the pool of his or her element. And they may be infused with Chi"

"May be?" Liam asked softly

"Yes, unfortunately it isn't a 100% success ratio. Nobody knows why or how, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But the way I see it, this is the only chance we have of saving Niall. He's getting weaker by the minute."

We looked at Niall and I felt sick to my stomach seeing him so near to death.

"What do we do?" Louis spoke, he seemed to handle this situation the best. But I knew that he was just acting strong for us. Inside he was just as scared.

"Lay him in the pool"

Liam walked to the pool and laid Niall down as gently as he possibly could.

"Now stand on all sides of the pool"

We positioned ourselves on every side of the pool, surrounding Niall, who was floating in the water.

"Harry you've done this before, you have to transfer some of your Chi into Niall, all of you do. Just mentally imagine sending some of your Chi through the tip of your fingers to the pool. The water will guide the Chi to Niall and hopefully, he will wake up."

We all nodded, confirming that we understood him. I closed my eyes to concentrate better and lifted my hands. I imagined channeling as much Chi as I can to the pool. When I was done I dropped my hands to my side and opened my eyes. One boy one I saw the other boys do the same. Looking at Niall hopefully.

Nothing happened.

I heard a sob coming from in front of me and I saw Liam with tears running down his cheek. I looked to my left and noticed that Louis was looking angry, not at anyone in particular. Zayn however looked completely emotionless, a blank stare plastered on his face.

I licked my lips, suddenly tasting something salt. That's when I noticed that I was crying too. Can you blame me? Niall is dying right in front of us and there's nothing we can do.

Suddenly Niall's eyes opened and the blonde boy shot up, splashing water in every direction. When the water calmed down Niall was still sitting in the pool, gasping for air.

He looked around and when his eyes fell on Liam they widened.

"Liam you're alive?!"

Before Liam could react, Niall jumped up and tackled Liam in a hug.

"I thought I lost you" Niall mumbled in Liam's neck

"I thought I lost YOU" Liam smiled a watery smile.

Liam pried Niall off him and looked him deep in the eye. "Niall that was incredibly dangerous and don't ever do that again." Liam then hugged Niall again, "Thank you" I heard him whisper

"Niall we were so worried, we thought you died!" I spoke up

"Why what happened? The last thing I remember was jumping out of an airplane and falling down" Niall scrunched his eyebrows in confusion.

"You saved me Ni, you saved me from falling to my death from an airplane. I don't know how you did, but you managed to control so much water that it cushioned my fall and then you froze it so we wouldn't fall when you passed out. And then you passed out because you used too much power, and.."

"You died" Blaine spoke

Niall quickly looked at Blaine, "I died?"

"Yes, they don't know" Blaine said, gesturing at us, "But a few seconds after you entered the pool your heart stopped and you would've been pronounced officially dead. But the boys gave you their Chi just in time to get you back to the living"

Niall's eyes were now watering.

"So Niall, what's it like being dead? how's the afterlife? was there anything good?" Louis tried to lighten the mood.

"No, there was nothing. Absolutely nothing. just darkness. Infinite darkness"

"Well that sounds highly negative" Louis chuckled awkwardly.

"We can't sit here forever" Blaine spoke up, "You guys are a hot topic right now and people want to interview you about the crash. Niall, I'm sure the other boys can fill you in on what to tell and what not to tell. meanwhile, I'm taking Harry and Liam to Susan. They'll be back in an hour or so."

We all nodded.

Blaine's eyes started glowing and Louis, Niall and Zayn disappeared. probably being teleported home.

Blaine then turned to us and teleported us to Susan
