Dakota:

I watched Luke and Aria talk all of lunch. For once, I didn't ask him to sit with Aria and he did today on his own will. Not to mention, the bastard brought her lunch. I always forget how forgetful she is on the first day and leaves her lunch at home or she doesn't make it. I thought I was the only one who knew about that.

Luke never even spoke to Aria. He hated when I talked about her. He was laughing and smiling in a way I haven't seen him laugh and smile in ages. He was pretty depressed after coming out of jail. He didn't really talk to anyone anymore and all he did was smoke in his room all summer. Ashton and Michael always wanted to come over but I told them to give it time. Yesterday, Luke seemed happy too but he was drunk. He looked like his old self and it was all because of Aria. I guess he finally decided to look past the shit people said about her and actually got to know her.

"Dakota. Why the fuck is your brother sitting with Aria?" Penelope asked.

Before I could come up with an answer, the bell rang and I was off to to class. I had government with Ashton and we sat next to each other in the back of the class.

"Calum couldn't stop talking about Aria and Luke today," he told me.

I shrugged.

"Do you know what that's about?"

"No clue, Ash."

"She's your best friend."

"I know."

"Dakota?"

"Yeah?"

"I don't think Calum remembers last night."

"Are you fucking serious?I have never seen my best friend more broken in my life after anything and you're trying to tell me that the fucking bastard doesn't remember raping my best friend. That is something Aria will never forget and that's it?" I snapped.

"Calm down. It's best that we all forget."

"Go make Calum remember, Ashton. Make him apologize or do something."

"I can't do that."

"Fuck you."

"Dakota," he sighed.

"Don't talk to me until you fix this because my best friend is broken and I can't do anything about it because all of this is my fault."

"Dakota, please," he repeated.

I proceeded to ignore him and gave him my middle finger.
