A chance meeting with Glen

New Year,New Beginning

New Years Eve,we had both our families around for lunch.It was the first time both our families were meeting each other and both Glen and I were nervous.It went really well,everyone got on really well and they were all ecstatic for us when Glen announced our happy news.

Everyone was so relaxed,the atmosphere great.The stories and laughs flowed.Even our parents swapping embarrassing childhood stories made both of us laugh and slightly cringe at the same time.Our Mums were so excited at the thought of panning our wedding,frantically discussing possible venues,guests,what they would wear,seasons.

"Mum,Chill !"I said."We have no idea about dates or even the kind of wedding we want,we got loads of time to think about it",I laughed-I think they may be more excited than us.

Glen was sore and tired,so things wound down and everyone left.Mark,Rina,Dan and his girlfriend Ava were coming over later to ring in the New Year.I tidied up,organised some food and made sure Glen had a rest.He is so stubborn,he won't give in to the pain,but I can see it in his eyes.

So we lay down for a while,I knew this was the only way he would actually rest for a bit.

"So what kind of wedding do ya want?" he smiled

"I don't know,I always liked the idea of something small,intimate,magical.But the way our mums were carrying on tonight you'd think this was gonna be the wedding of the century.It kinda made my head spin.I don't like attention and a monster wedding just isn't me.I'd like just our families,a few close friends somewhere really breath taking and then a huge party when we got back!"

"hmmmm....I like that idea" he sighs,gently stroking my hair."An intimate wedding and a massive party.sounds like the best of both worlds.You know what Aimee?I think that's what we should do.....find somewhere magical while we're touring,we can fly the families over and just do it.The lads will be with us anyway."

I  leaned over ,kissing him softly."You are so good to me,I know you'd love a huge wedding but you only want to make me happy.We can have the big wedding if you want baby?"

"No,Aimee I like the sound of marrying you on a white sandy beach with the ocean as our sound track or on top of a snowy mountain with the world at our feet.We can celebrate in style when we get home.Can we do it now,?I want to marry you now baby!"He kisses me so intensely-I can't wait to be his wife.

"No babe,our parents would freak!We've only just told them,they'll think I'm pregnant".I laughed.

He pulls me into his arms,kissing me tenderly,"I wouldn't mind if ya were!"

"Woah......No way!One step at a time Mr!"

"I know,Iknow!I'm just excited.You make me feel like a kid at Christmas,only its everyday.I can't wait to see what happens next."

New Years Eve is a huge success,we have great fun together,everyone is very merry.Rina and Ava were excited about the wedding too,offering lots of advice.The boys were teasing Glen about his stag night over at the other end of the room,Marks laugh filled he room.

"Sheehan,you better give him back to me in one piece-I swear if you do"......He cut me off ,still roaring with laughter,"Aims it'll be fuckin grand-it's all cool.He won't feel a thing!"

Dan was looking at the floor,he knows all to well that Mark is crazy and just full of ideas for pranks and god knows what.

"Anyway I owe these fuckers some payback for the shit they pulled on me!"

Glen got better and better over the next few weeks.By the time they were ready for the album launch,he was completely healed .They were so nervous and excited.They had a whirlwind tour of Ireland and the UK promoting it, doing T.V and radio interviews.I stayed in London as I had my own work to get on with.Glen came home as often as he could and some weekends we would meet back in Dublin,making the most of our precious time together.It was difficult being apart but the album was doing amazingly well and they were thrilled with the fans reaction.Their hard work had paid off,fans were crying out for the live tour,they couldn't wait to hear it live!

We spent Valentines day in New York.We only had two days there,but every second was incredibly romantic.It was still really cold there and snowing.We did some touristy things,like taking a night time buggy ride in central park,admiring the view from the top of the Empire state building,having lunch at the Plaza.We even picked our wedding rings at Tiffany's.Even though we had no date set.But mostly we enjoyed every second of our alone time

It was over all too quickly,as we snuggled up on our flight back I began to feel unwell with  pains in my stomach.Great I thought,probably food poisoning.I leaned into Glens shoulder and tried to sleep.I drifted in and out.

"Baby you're burning up" he said feeling my forehead.

"I'm okay Glen,think I just ate something dodgy." "

Can I get you some water or something?"He asks kissing my cheek.

"No baby,i just wanna get some sleep and be at home"

"We've only an hour left of the flight,try to sleep Aims."He wrapped his arms around me,The pain was getting worse.By the time we got back to London and were walking through the airport the pain had gone to my shoulder.

"Jesus! Aimee!" Glen looked at me in horror,I could feel the colour draining from my face,everything got so heavy, I could see his lips moving, but then everything went black.........
