I wake up early to get a head start on my day.

I grab my bag of soap and shampoo and head to the girls showers. The curtains are thin and make me uneasy. All the more reason why I hurried to finish in 5 minutes. I tightly wrap my robe and speed back to my room.

I step inside and start to get ready, plugging in my curler. After laying  out a simple white t-shirt, jeans, black combat boots, and long gold necklace, I start my makeup. I don't take as much time, only doing the bare minimum. My hair is curled and brushed into big beach waves, and my outfit is on. I'm now ready for the day

Grabbing my keys, I head to my car, then drive to get my textbooks. The trip is a quick in and out with the cashier being overwhelmed by all the students.

I walk out the store and let a yawn escape me. I shouldn't have skipped breakfast. There's got to be a Starbucks around here somewhere. Something quick and not messy. I spot  a Starbucks within walking distance and head that direction.

There are few people in the Starbucks, and I take my place in line behind two girls. The girl in front let's her eyes wonder about before turning back to me. I smile politely.

"Um you need help with those books?" She offers.

I hadn't realized how heavy they were. It would be nice to have her help me.

"Yea, sure. Thanks" I laugh and hand her two textbooks. She takes them on her hip like a toddler.

"No problem, I'm Mia" she holds out a hand for me to shake.

"Maggie" I shake.

"Next customer?" A voice behind the counter says.

Without thinking we both give our order "a venti double chocolate chip frappuchino please " we say in unison.

We look at each other and immediately fill the small cafe with laughter.

"Dude! That's like the only thing I get here!" Mia says as our laughing fit begins to die down.

"Me too!" I tell her

"Wow! Who would've thought.." we grab our drinks and sit at a table together. We sip quietly until she stops to say something.

"So are you new this year? I haven't seen you around."

"Yea I just got here yesterday. My classes don't start until tomorrow" I inform her.

"Sweet, same here. Do you have your schedule on you?"

I shuffle through my purse and give her the folded paper. She opens it and studies closely before her eyes light up.

"We have your last period music history class together" she practically squeals

It's great to have somebody I know in a class. I'm not the best at making new friends and it'll be lots easier with Mia by my side. She seems to know her way around this place.

A vibration is felt on the table and Mia's head snaps down to her phone. She stares at her screen with a puzzled face before typing away on the device. She gets up and grabs her drink, leaving the textbooks on the table.

"I gotta go, see you in class tomorrow " she rushes. She's quick on her feet and is out the door in seconds. I sit and wonder where she was off to. Does she live on campus like me? Does she have a roommate? Was it her roommate she was texting?

I stand from the table and gather my belongings. I struggle with the books and drink, barely making it out the door. I just need to get to my car, and I'm home free.  I begin to walk, my focus on the books in hand, balancing my drink on top. Finding a steady pace isn't too hard. Once I finally get into the rhythm of it, I'm stopped by a hard wall.

"Shit-" a voice says

Books hit the ground and my drink goes everywhere, soaking my shirt. I drop to my knees, scrambling to pick up my mess before it calls attention.

"Im so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going. This is so my fault. I'm such a klutz! Silly me, I shouldve put them in my car before I got coffee-" I'm interrupted by the same voice from before

"Hey, you can chill it with the monologue there, it's not helping this hangover" they say, kneeling down handing me a book.

I take the book slowly from the hand and let my eyes travel up to his brown eyes. Those eyes. Those eyes with soft curls falling just above them. Those same eyes that caused panic in me just yesterday. I try to form words but nothing seems to come out. This is embarrassing, i should just run. His eyes meet mine for a moment until they slowly wander down to my shirt. A smirk appears on his lips and my stomach flutters.

"Nice bra" he says, playfulness clear in his tone.

I look down and just to my luck, my coffee soaked the front of my white shirt, making my underwear visible to all. Including the curly haired boy in front of me. I look up, half expecting his eyes still at my chest. He's gone. I quickly spot him walking away in the distance. Who is he?

I waste no more time and head back to my car. I spend the rest of my day in my dorm planning every detail of my first day of classes. More pizza and more Netflix fill my night until I'm drifting off.
