Maggie's p.o.v.

My head rests against the cold glass of Matty's car window as I stare out into the scenery passing us. The light blue sky stays still as the trees roll past in a big green blur, with the sun being permanently glued to one spot above. My eyes flicker down to the side view mirror, and I can't help studying my appearance.

My dark brown eyes carry unwelcomed dark circles just below them. I feel tired beyond belief and my face is sure to show it well. My hair is untamed and frizzed in all directions, causing me to sigh at the mess. The loose clothes I was given to wear don't help. Loose and baggy basketball shorts struggle to stay up my legs, ending just below my knees. The shirt swallowing me is big, but more familiar, it being one of the black shirts I love to sleep in. I can tell they are Matty's, and the thought of his scent surrounding my body warms me.

Cold fingers reach my thigh and I nearly jump. I look down to see his hand gripping my thigh in a comforting gesture. His eyes stay trained on the road as we reach our destination.

All I want is to relax right now. I don't want to think about anything that's happened today. I just want to lay down in my baggy clothes and watch a movie, with some popcorn or chips to snack on. That sounds like the closest thing to heaven I can get right now.

My head turns to the drivers seat and I hadn't realized Matty had gotten out of the car already, let alone parked it. The cold sensation from his hand still lingers on my skin.

My door opens and I nearly scream before realizing who it is. Matty stands next to me with a forced smile sitting on his face. It hurts seeing him so sad.

"Up you go." He murmurs just loud enough for my ears to catch.

Before I know it, his strong arms snake around my back and under my knees, lifting me up with no effort shown. He doesn't have to carry me but I surely don't deny the offer for a free lift. He kicks the car door shut and heads towards his building. I rest my head against his chest, touching my forehead with the base of his neck. I close my eyes and listen carefully to the sound of his heart. It beats fast like a tribal drum in my ear, soothing me.

The ride is short lived, and I hear the familiar clicking of Matty's apartment door closing. My eyes open as I realize I'm being placed on an untouched couch in the small living room space.

"I've never really noticed this couch before." I take note aloud.

"Yea, well... I need to change the sheets on the bed..." he shuffles a bit awkwardly "So you can lay here for the time being." He pushes his hair off his face with the last word. He seems off.

"Matty and his curls." I tease in an attempt to cheer him up.

"Surely they're better than yours." He smiles briefly before heading towards the hallway to bedroom.

I take the oppurtunity to locate the remote laying at the end of the couch, and I grab it quickly. With the push of the power button, the flat screen on the wall becomes alive with color. The Netflix main menu is already on the screen. Just what I needed. I scroll and scroll through the countless movies and shows without any luck on finding one to watch. I sigh.

It is then when Matty resurfaces from the hall with wrinkled sheets in his hand. I give him a quick glance before aiming my attention back to the flat screen.

"Is there anything good on here?" I question in a frustrated tone.

Matty laughs. He actually laughs. My eyes snap to him in surprise. After everything that's happened so far this weekend, I was afraid I had broken him for good. It's a relief to see him back to his old self.

Something catches my eye. I look down to the sheets in Matty's grasp and notice an unusual tint. A deep red is stained onto the white fabric, causing me to panic. I sit up instinctively.

"What is that?" I snap at Matty.

He looks at me with a puzzled expression. "What?"

"The sheets, Matty. What's on them?"

He looks down and his expression changes once he realizes what I'm referring to.

"Well y'know." He stammers. I must be crazy, because it looks as though he's embarrassed. Matthew Healy embarrassed? I must be seeing things.

"Matty what happened? Did you hurt yourself or something?" My voice becomes panicked.

"No, no, Maggie." He runs a hair through his hair before rubbing the back of his neck. "This isn't my blood."

What?

I look at him with the most serious expression ever to reach my face.

"Who's blood is it?"

"It's uh." He seems to be a bit reluctant in spitting out the words.

"It's yours." He murmurs.

My face goes red the moment I hear the words. My hands fly up and I cover my features, hiding from Matty's view.

"Oh God." I spit out. "Matty I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to stain your sheets. You shouldn't be cleaning that I should-"

"Maggie and her monologues." He chuckles. "Don't worry about it love, it was your first time, this is completely normal." He gestures towards the stained sheets in hand. "We must have been too high off our arses to notice." I don't have to look to know there's a cheeky smile behind that last statement.

I groan aloud in embarrassment.

"Come here babygirl." He says.

My eyes peek out from the hands hiding them and I look at Matty in disbelief.

"Babygirl?" I eye him questionably.

He laughs. "Just come here."

I don't resist any longer. My legs are quick in lifting me from the couch as my feet contact the floor. The moment my hands fall to my sides and my vision is restored, I'm pulled into a hard chest. I don't have time to process anything as his soft lips crash into mine. The familiar sparks flow between us, and I'm glad to feel something so great. The kiss is quick but shows a hint of emotion behind it, and I savour the moment before it ends with him pulling back. He rests his head against mine with a genuine smile resting on his features.

"You know something?" I break the comfortable silence.

"Hmm?" Matty hums.

"My mom," I giggle briefly "she called you my boyfriend."

He chuckles lightly in return before saying, "your doctor did the same thing."

"Well," I stay in my joking state "are we then? Boyfriend and girlfriend?"

His hand reaches my hair and for once he plays with my hair instead of me playing with his. I nearly get distracted at the soothing feeling and his playful behavior.

"Do you want to be?" I add.

He doesn't say anything. I try to decipher his actions but I can't seem to tell what he's thinking. His hand runs its way to the back of my head, and without warning he pulls me in again for a kiss. I become confused as he stops abruptly, leaving us meerly a centimeter apart.

"It's just you and I tonight, why don't you figure my heart out." He says before ending the statement with a brief peck on the lips.

His figure pulls away and I'm left standing alone, my eyes watching him head towards the hallway again.

Idek what this is, but it's decent.

I've gotten so used to writing at 2am, when my inspiration is 100% but now that school is back, I'm passed out with phone in hand at 11 and end up tired and napping in World History the next day. Shout out to my friend Maggie in real life who's witnessed it. Hope she's enjoying the story I for some odd reason decided to use her name in.

Anyyyyyywayyyyy enough of the unnecessarily long authors note.

Vote & comment ily all for reading!!
