Chapter Sixteen

Courtney finally stopped being the stubborn head she is and accepted Darren back into her life. She tried explaining things to her 7-year-old daughter who knew nothing about everything that's been going on for the past few months.

Sam,was extremely happy to have a dad. She didn't get mad at her mum for not telling her about him,rather she grew happy about the information.

The two lovers decided to take Sam to tour park since he was going to leave for Texas soon.
They entered roller coasters, took pictures together, had fun and finally went to a restaurant for lunch. They laughed so hard as Sam mimicked her teacher's boring speech on education.

"We should do this again"Darren said and laughed.

"Yeah"Court' agreed in between her laughter.

"Mum,I want more ice cream"

"No,baby. You've had enough sugar for today"

"Dad,I want more ice cream"

Darren looked at Courtney whose eyes were telling him "two can play that game"

"C'mon sam"he said and winked at Court' before going to get ice cream for her.

While they were gone,Court' received a call from her boss. She rolled her eyes before picking it up.

"Courtney?"

"Yessuh?"

"How you doing?"

"Very well,suh"

"Well,I need you to come over to pick some documents for the office. I'll be needing them on Monday morning. I hope I'm not bothering you or anything?"

"No. Not at all. I'll be there by 8:00pm"

"Alright then. I'll be waiting"he said and she hung up just when Darren walked back to the table with Sam.

"Who was it?"he asked.

"My boss. He wants me to come,take some documents"

"Why?"

"He needs them ready on Monday"

"Well,he should know you'll be busy"

"It's my job Darren"

"I'm not comfortable with it"he said and she smiled."what?"

"You look cute when you're jealous"

"I'm not jealous"

"I'm just gonna go take some documents and I'll be back"

"I'm driving you"he insisted.

"Okay"she agreed.

The ride back to London wasn't a silent one 'cause sam made them laugh so hard. They dropped her off and headed to Edward's house.

"I'm not sure it's safe"he said.
