Harper's POV
We drive to our next destination which happens to be this beautiful restaurant, it looks familiar. I seriously need to start remembering things .
"Babe, you know where we are right?"
" I have an idea..."He looks down with sad eyes,
" Sean, you have to know I have horrible memory, we haven't been here in months. I don't mean to be an old lady with the whole memory loss thing babe. But you know me."
" I know you couldn't remember my name for the first month of our relationship" We both laugh
He stops and looks up at me in a way I've never seen before" Harper, I was going to wait but the more I remember, and realize how much I love you"
" I love you too Sean, what is this all about?" We sit in silence for awhile until he speaks again.
"Wanna get out?"He only changes the subject like that when he's nervous "Hmm?" What is this boy hiding from me?
"Yeah" I say squinting my eyes at him. We get out and walk away from the restaurant but towards this small sitting area. Once we reach the place, Sean stops abruptly. "Sean, what are you doing? Come on let's go sit down babe." He looks at me and then grabs my hands, holding them softly.
" Harper, there aren't any ways to explain how I have been feeling lately. I have thought about all that we have been through all that we have done and the solution to that is always the same. I want everything with you, I want to be a better man with you and for you. I want you to have our children, I want us to be a family one day." I smile thinking about us having a family together, he would be a great dad.
"You make me want to be the greatest man I can be. I love you more than I can even comprehend, and I know we haven't been together that long, but I don't care. Time doesn't define love. "He gets down on one knee. Whoa what is he doing?
" What are you doing.... Sean?"
" Harper Jean March, you are my everything. Will you marry me?"
"........ Oh my god" What did he just ask me? No... he didn't just-NO! He's joking with me.
I look deeper into his eyes and see nothing but sincerity, "OMG, he's serious?!" I think to myself. I stare widely at him, not sure what to say next.
I do love him with everything in me, he means the world to me. I just... I don't know.
"No."
"No? What do you mean? "
"Sean, I love you with every inch of me but I'm not ready for that, it's too big " He got off his knee and looked down at me with sorrowful eyes
"I don't think we're ready for something that big, I love you Sean I do, and I would do anything for you. But I'm not ready, maybe a little further down in the future but right now we have so much to think about. A no right now isn't a No forever"
" I understand Harper i just, want to be with you for the rest of my life"
" and I do to but let's wait for a commitment like that okay?"
He nods and we walk back to the car. We drive in comfortable silence. I hope he's not upset at me for that
But I realized that Sean is understanding and he knows that if he asks in another few years the answer will be a yes. I just pray he doesn't change his mind.
