Xander POV

It had been over a month since Tris had his episode on me. I thought back to what triggered the outburst, but I don't understand why he would assume I'd cheat. I've never given him the indication I didn't want to be with him. I push the thoughts away and try to focus on my school work, the more I focused the more I felt a headache start to emerge.

I walk into our room and look through the bathroom to find some Advil to soothe my headache. Looking in the medicine drawer I find five pill bottles that I've never seen before.

They must be some of his fathers medicine he keeps. I look at the name on the bottle:

Tristan James Kane.

Wait. When did he start taking medication and what does he take medication for? I hear the front door open and close, I place the bottles back into the drawer and walk out into the living room.

"Hey love, how was your day?" Tris asks while he sits down his bag

"It was alright. The interview went well?"

"Yeah, it did. They offered me the job on the spot." He said smiling at me. I smile and walk behind him in the kitchen.

Say something about the medication.

"Hey babe?" He turns to me with his eyebrows raised. "Hm?"

"I was looking for the Advil in the med drawer, and I found some pills that-"

"Babe, I have medication for my father. It's just so I can keep track of how many he takes and what he needs more of." He looks through the refrigerator not looking at me while he spoke.

"I thought that too. Until, I saw it wasn't his name on the bottle." He lifted his head from the refrigerator and looked at me.

"Why were you searching through my things?" I backed away from him afraid he would throw something at me.

"I wasn't snooping, I was looking for Advil." He glared at me closing in on me, and I am running out of room to back into.

"What's in that drawer has nothing to do with you." He says closing the gap between us.

"I just don' t think-"

"You don't think! That's your problem!" He yells in my face. I look up at him and I push myself into his space.
"Don't talk to me like that! I am worried about you, that's all! Instead of being a d*ck about this, you can talk to me!" He walks around me and into the living room.

Follow him!

"Where are you going?" He doesn't reply.

"TRISTAN!" He turns to me with a smirk on his face.

"You know the best part about being out of this house?" I shake my head.

"Not having to hear you b*tch all day long." He puts down his bag and walks up to me.
"Tristan, please just tell me what the medication is for. I want to help you." I plead with him.

"Stop asking about the medication! That's a need to know and you don't need to know." He plays with one loose curl in my hair.

"You know, I would be able to deal with your bullsh*t if you didn't make me want to pull my hair out whenever I was around you." Tears brimmed the bottom of my eyes.

He didn't mean it.

"I mean it, you repulse me-"

"Shut up!" I yell not being able to take much more of his attack on me. He backs away and walks out of the door.

What is happening?

The next morning

I didn't sleep a wink last night, and Tristan never came back home. I called Harper

Harper: Baby! I've missed you, how have you been?" I couldn't back my sobs after that.

Harper: Xander? What's wrong? Who do I have to kill?

Xander: I don't know what I'm doing wrong Harper! I just don't know!

Harper: Tell me what's happened.

Telling her what happened this past month was hard, I felt worthless and weak.

Harper: I am going to murder him in his sleep. Not asking for permission but I am telling you what is going to happen.

Xander: I need to know what's going on with him. I just don't know how to do it.

Harper: Uh, yes you do!

Xander: How?

Harper: Spy on his no good as*! Go to his job and see what he does throughout the day. Anything out of the ordinary, you follow him and confront him on his sh*t.

I was considering what she was suggesting but, that was just extreme as hell.

This is an extreme moment. I think to my self.

Xander: That seems like a lot. I don't know.

Harper: Do you want to know what's up?

I nodded my head forgetting she couldn't see me.

Xander: Yes I do.

Harper: Then it's time to play, Nancy Drew.

I'm just not sure if I'm ready for the answers.
