The Makeover
CHAPTER 13 (EDITED)

“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.”  ― John Lennon

                                     Rosalie Johnson

"Is this the part where you murder me?" I questioned as I stared at the thick layer of trees.

Christopher smiled at me and shook his head, "you know, you always ask that," he laughed. I rolled my eyes at him and gripped onto his hand tightly.

"Because I'm still waiting for it to happen. You seem too good to be true," I muttered shyly and looked away.

"Rosalie," came Christopher's soft whisper as he touched my face softly and turned it towards him. It was weird seeing him without his hoodie. It was almost like a foreign concept to me, but I liked. I liked very much.

He was so unbelievably gorgeous, it was hard to imagine why he would want to be with me. There was so many other people who surrounded us that he could have chosen from. I was plain, I was most definitely lazy and my attitude wasn't always the best. So why me? Why me of all people?

I looked into his stormy grey eyes and he smiled down at me before planting a small kiss on my forehead.

"Let's walk," he said as he guided me into the forest.

I could hear the quiet crunch of snow beneath our feet as we walked. It was very cold, but my sweater protected me from the frigid cold air. I glanced at Christopher to see how he was doing. He was only wearing a button down shirt, but he looked as if it was spring rather than winter.

"Aren't you cold?" I questioned. I was tempted to wrap my sweater around him and bundle him up until he looked nice and comfy, but something told me he wouldn't appreciate wearing a bright pink Hello Kitty sweater.

"I'm fine," he muttered as he ran his fingers through his snow covered curls.

"You're going to freeze," I said but he shrugged with a bit of humor in his eyes.

"I won't."

I glare at him with apprehension, "okay, whatever you say."

We continue to walk for what seemed like forever. Well, maybe not forever, but like I mentioned, I was a lazy person.

We reached a small opening that was fenced off. Where the heck were we? I thought we were in the middle of nowhere, but apparently not.

"Rosalie," Christopher started as he looked at me seriously.

"Yes?"

"You're going to have to hop the fence."

Hop the - ? He has got to be kidding me! Why would I want to the hope the fence? I guess my bewildered look told him exactly what I thought about hopping the fence because he rolled his eyes before sending me an amused smirk.

"Rosalie," he said in a teasing voice and I huffed.

This was the most work I've done in months.

With the help Christopher, I easily climbed over the fence. Not without some difficulty, but it was fairly easily.

"Stand back," he said from the other side of the fence and I nodded my head as I took a few steps back.

With such grace that I thought it had to be a crime, Christopher quite literally hopped the fence in a single move. It was almost as if he was used to this.

Yep, definitely the traits of a murder.

Damn.

"Are we allowed to be here?" I asked, if only I knew where here was exactly.

"Yes," he said instantly and I sent him a suspicious look. So why did we have to hop a fence? But I kept that question to myself and let him guide me.

We walked a bit more before I spotted a light in the distance. It was tiny at first. However, as we walked further and further into the forest and away from the fence, the light got bigger until it took the distinct shape of windows.

So at least I knew there was a building now.

Christopher's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Someone's home," he said hesitantly and I gaped. Wait, a home?

And as we walked closer and the tress began to thin out, I knew he was right. Standing before us was quite a large house. It was probably the size of four standard houses put together. It was like a cabin but made for extremely rich people.

Did Christopher live here?

Well what did I expect? His brother was in fact Ashton Davis.

"Christopher, where are we?"

"This is my family home, one of the many."

Family home? One of the many? Does that he had more houses like this just laying around.

Breath Rosalie, just breath.

If this was his home, why did we have to sneak in? Why not just go through the front?

"Shhh ... Stay low," Christopher muttered as we approached the back door.

He took out a set of keys from his pocket and picked out a single one. It was oddly shaped and looked kind of old fashioned which was really weird.

He pushed it into the lock and turned it swiftly, unlocking the door.

We entered the kitchen, I think. It was dark except for what little light streamed through the windows. I could vaguely hear the thumping of music coming from upstairs and I wondered if Christopher brought me to a party. That would definitely be an interesting event if so.

"Chris - "

"Shh ..." he hissed.

Oh no, he didn't know just cut me off like that. I glared at the back of his head and hoped he felt my gaze burning into the back of his head.

We leave the stainless steel kitchen into an open area with many doors leading off into different directions. It was like a cave with several openings. Heck, I can even picture myself getting lost.

Christopher squeezed my hand gently before tugging me off into the direction of spiraling stairs where the music got louder. It vaguely sounded like what I just heard on the radio, but I couldn't exactly put my finger on it.

We quickly tiptoe up the stairs and around the corner. I suddenly felt like Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson sneaking into unfamiliar territory on one of their many cases. Which brought me to the point of what if the person was actually a burglar? That would definitely turn into a very sad story.
