Unlike with Reynabeth, I was less easy to convince with Pipeyna. It mostly stemmed from the jealousy and not much interaction besides that. However, just like Reynabeth, Minuiko lured me in.

To me, Pipeyna would be Korrasami done right. Now, in terms of Korra and Asami's personality traits, the pair is not bad in hindsight, due to its many contrasts. But the whole Makorra or Masami thing shoots the ship in the foot, it demands the ship to develop more if it wanted to be convincing in their relationship's growth. That didn't happen in the least, or did it even try. Instead Korra and Asami acted as just friends with only the finale to show that they may actually like each other romantically. And that sucks because, again, Korrasami could have been done well if the writers actually TRIED to write a love story for them and weren't just trying to be progressive.

I feel like Pipeyna could do what Korrasami tried to do right. For one thing, Jason is nowhere near as much of a dick as Mako is to Korra and Asami, so the tension is not multiplied to a level where a sudden lesbian relationship would feel forced. That and their contrasts just complete each other in perfect ways: Piper is the emotional center while Reyna is the strong center, Piper is laidback and Reyna is rigid, Reyna is not the best speaker, Piper's charming words are her power. I really enjoy the idea of them starting off awkward and delicate but in an attempt to help each other they let themselves open up more and become a strong power couple. 

With that said, there's a setback. I'm....apparently the only one who ships Pipeyna this way? Everyone else ships Pipeyna as a Lesbian Leyna, yet they shit on Leyna like crazy. What would be light teasing turns into Piper being needlessly annoying and immature to Reyna. I know I shouldn't let the fandom get into how I ship something....but this is how all Pipeyna fans see the ship, and it makes me wonder if Pipeyna is actually a good ship or not.

In conclusion, I like Pipeyna but I don't like the way the shippers make it out to be. They make Piper really out of character when she doesn't need to be for the ship to work? So yeah, that turns me off from the ship, even if I do still kinda like it.
