Ah yes, Perachel. The most forbidden ship in history of ships in the PJO fandom. Maybe ever. The ship that could get a self-proclaimed 'demigod' stabbing you in the head and calling you a 'STUPID MORTAL!!!!111111!!!!' for EVER thinking of something so horrifying as shipping something else besides Percabeth. THE HORROR!!!!!!!

Yeah, newflash? This ship was NEVER that bad.

And keep your pitchforks down!! ...It was never good either.

It was never DESIGNED to be good. At all. Rachel's sole purpose in her relationship with Percy was to be a 'threat' to Annabeth. She was MADE to frustrate the reader and to be disregarded, as a cheap obstacle for Percabeth to defeat. And honestly? Annabeth was such a bitch to her, God, it just brought out the worst in her. Shit, I was always rooting for Percabeth too (and Percico, obviously. God Tier ship) but with how mean she got when Rachel was just doing her own thing? I almost WANTED to root for Rachel. And Annabeth's always been one of my favorite characters! Yeah, I have a few issues with Battle of the Labyrinth. That was definitely one of them. 

But let's not get sidetracked, so how do I feel about Perachel? Well, I feel...annoyed, and angry, but not in the way you think. 

Like I give a damn if it gets between Percabeth. I am a multi-shipper to the core. No, what I really can't stand about Perachel, is the fanbrats bitching about it. Perachel is entirely linked to all of the petty, mean posts about it, the toxic Percabeth lovers that would bitch and bitch and bitch. And, yeah, it's unfair to the ship, but honestly? Everything about Perachel is unfair to Rachel. Because this is probably what Rick Riordan wanted; there's just no other way you can NOT expect the petty ship wars with an unnecessary obstacle to the main series's OTP. Rachel doesn't deserve any of this, she's one of the best characters!! She's smart, she's playful, she's sassy, she's friendly, she's determined, she's quirky, she's impulsive. And she got called a bitch for just crushing on Percy. Fuck this fandom. It's why I wanna keep Rachel as far away from Percy as possible. Thank God she's now the Oracle. 

Luckily, the Perachel hate has MOSTLY died down. Mostly. But you cannot search Perachel on Google without a lot of hate posts popping out, something that not even a homophobic ship like Reynico gets (which it would DESERVE). But honestly? The bitterness of it, and how much of a device Perachel is really damages it. I mean, Percy and Rachel were written without romantic chemistry, or compability, or even with much of an interesting dynamic. And it was ALL intentional. I kinda wish I could be a hipster and say fuck it all, and ship Perachel. But I can't. Because Rick wrote NOTHING there. 

Though I will give it a low score, because that's how I feel, this ship? It doesn't deserve all of the hate. It's completely harmless, if you ship it, be proud, and for those who still want to hate on it? Grow up.
