The next day, Lila and I walked to school. I actually forgot that we had school again, so I had no books with me today. To my luck, no teacher gave me detention, since they don't really look if you have your stuff with you or not.
Lila and I kept talking about yesterday and filled the boys in in what we did to Chandler. They both told us if they were in his position, they would've already done what Lila wanted Chandler to do. It was weird to hear them talk like that, but I guess that's what happens when you sext someone.
The boys had detention, because both of them were late this morning. Lila had a book to get from the library, so we said our good byes in school. When I walked out, most of the students were already gone, since I was taking my sweet time teasing the boys. I chuckled when I got out of the building.
I did a double take when I saw Chandler casually leaning against his car. He looked damn hot today and I couldn't even ignore the way my stomach turned. He was wearing a pair of black sunglasses, because today the sun was shining brightly. He had a baseball cap on too.
I widened my eyes before mentally preparing myself to be with him. When I reached him at his car, I smiled.
"You didn't have to pick me up." I told him and he just shrugged, before pushing himself off the car. To my surprise he opened the passenger door for me. I thanked him and quickly got in. I watched him walk around the car while taking a deep breath.
"Seat belt." He commanded again after getting in the driver's seat. I rolled my eyes and fastened my seat belt. He drove off slowly and it was silent.
"So." He started and I looked at him."So." I said, knowing we are going to talk about yesterday. I decided to start the conversation, so I quickly added.
"Took you quite a while to answer yesterday." I said and he started choking on his spit. I patted his back with a worried feeling in my stomach."Yeah, I took a shower in between. Sorry." He said and I nodded slowly. So he wasn't really that interested when we were sexting. I was slightly disappointed. What teenage guy would take a shower in such a position?
"You wanna go to my place? I bought another movie and I'll let you do your homework if you want." He said, stopping at a red light. He looked at me expectantly and I nodded.
"Sure, as long as I don't have to cook." I answered, which made him smile."We can arrange that. Are you hungry? You wanna stop at Darmetir's?" He asked and my face lit up. I haven't been there in a while and the food was amazing.
"No, I'm fine." I said, because I didn't have enough money with me."You sure?" He asked and I nodded, trying not to make him see that I actually was hungry.
"Yes, Chandler." I smiled and he nodded, continuing to drive. The rest of the car ride was filled with conversations and shared laughter. It wasn't awkward at all after yesterday. We raced upstairs like little kids once we got to his place. He won, of course. I was excited to see that he had borrowed the secret garden. It has been a long time ago when I last watched this movie and I actually realized how much I liked it.
He lied his head on my lap again after pulling the cap off. I was happy he didn't gel it and didn't know if I should massage it or not. I decided to do it and he looked up at me with a smile.
"You don't have to do that, you know." His raspy voice told me he liked it and I shrugged."I like touching your hair. It's smooth." I answered and I thought I saw him blush, before he quickly looked back at the TV. He snuggled up to me as his one arm was wrapped around my back and we fell into a comfortable position.
In the middle of the movie, there was a slight knock on the door. I exchanged a look with Chandler, who seemed as surprised as I was. He stopped the movie and told the person to get in.
"Master." A man in his middle ages greeted us. When I looked at Chandler, he was slightly flushed in his face and avoided looking at the man.
"Miles, what are you doing here? I gave you a week off." I heard Chandler say as he sat up, so he wasn't laying anymore."Yes, but I have to inform you about your father's arrival." This made me look back at Chandler, who slightly widened his eyes.
"He's here? Why haven't you told me earlier?" He sounded really mad now. What was the big deal? Wasn't he happy to see his father?"It was supposed to be a surprise, but I knew you wouldn't appreciate it." Why wouldn't he appreciate it? What was going on? I heard Chandler groan and he ran a hand through his hair.
"Where is he now?" Chandler asked the man."I suppose on his way to your room, I heard his car a few minutes ago." He said.
"What is going on, Chandler?" Why was he acting as if his father was a criminal or so?
"Nothing, everything is fine. When my father comes, don't say anything. Don't-""Miles? My luggage is at the bottom of the stairs. Get it in my study." We heard a voice say. I knew that voice from the news and couldn't help but feel excited. I looked at Chandler who had his eyes closed. The man named Miles nodded to the person next to him and left our sight.
I stood up as well when I saw Tobias Hawkes come into Chandler's room. He looked exactly the way he did on TV. Light brown hair, blue eyes and a few wrinkles, which only made him look more attractive. Mom's words, not mine.
Upon seeing me, he smiled and came closer. I almost gulped, because he was tall. Taller than Chandler, and he was already a head taller than me.
"Hello. I'm Tobias. What's your name, darling?" He asked and I took his hand, shooting Chandler a look. The man was polite and it was only a matter of manners to answer him. Especially if he's a high personage in the government. What was Chandler's deal? He glared at me and I quickly looked back at the man in front of me.
"I'm Allie." I answered.
