Allie's PoV:
I glanced at the rear viewing mirror and saw Chandler's car behind us. I was still mad at him for ruining my movie night. I always had a movie night on my weekends and he ruined that for me.
"Have I told you how much I liked that boy? Look at you, he got you to come to Cyrus' game." I heard my mom say and rolled my eyes.
"You only like him because he's Tobias Hawkes' son." I said."I gave him the chance because of his dad, but he proofed himself to me when he said yes to Cyrus' game. When he showed up today, just so your brother was happy, I realized there was a lot more to him. He convinced you to come too and even if Cyrus doesn't admit it, he's happy." She said and I sighed. I know.
"But I will just mess it up for him again." I say, more to myself than to my mom, but she heard me.
"What do you mean?" She sounded confused and I laughed humorlessly. Does she not remember?"You don't remember? When Cyrus had his first game, he lost because of me." I said and she laughed out loud.
"That was five years ago. He is much more focused now. You should see how many mothers yell at their children during the game." She informed me."Oh." I still didn't believe her. But I guess we'll see, because I will cheer for Cyrus. It's natural.
"Don't worry. I bet Cyrus will be happy once he hears his big sister cheer for him." I saw her smile and that made me smile too. But I was still anxious. We arrived at the soccer field shortly after and got into a good parking spot. Chandler parked next to us and he made my mom's car look like a piece of trash. We got out and waited for Chandler and Cyrus to get out too.
"That was AWESOME!" I smiled at Cyrus' happy face. He seemed full of energy today and I was already searching for a turn off button. When Chandler stepped out, he chuckled and to me it went in slow motion. Something about him when he walked out of his car made me blush.
His black hair was hidden behind a baseball cap, which I failed to see when I was mad at him earlier. He looked hot in it, his jaw looked even more defined and I couldn't help but look at it. He wasn't looking at me yet, so I was good and when he pulled his hoodie over his head I was gone. There's something about boys who were hoodies that was so attractive to me...
As if he felt my eyes on him, his set of coal black ones snapped towards me. I didn't look away like I should've. He was also not looking away and soon we had a stare off in front of my mom and Cyrus.
"I'm off." I hear Cyrus say awkwardly after clearing his throat and finally snap out of it. My cheeks were warm and I quickly looked away from Chandler.
"We'll be at the front as always!" My mom yelled after him and he shouted a loud okay, before running faster."Well, let's go." My mom said and rubbed her hands together. I nodded as I followed her quietly. Chandler fell into step with me and I blushed again. What just happened? Why didn't I look away? Why didn't he look away?!
"So how is his team called?" I hear him ask my mom.
"The tigers." She smiles at him and he chuckled. It's pretty cliche, I know. As we finally reached the spot, mom wanted to go and buy some snacks. I offered to come with her, but she gave me a look and said she'll be quick. Now it's five minutes later and she still isn't here. I stole a glance at Chandler, who was sitting next to me. He was already looking at me when I did so and my breath hitched.
"W-what?" I internally scolded at myself for stuttering."Nothing." He shrugged and looked away. I just sighed and looked at the field, where my brother was currently warming up. He was so cute in his little outfit, I smiled.
"I watched those movies you wanted me to watch." I hear Chandler say and frown, before looking at him."The rascals? Our gang follies?" I asked him and he nodded with a smug look on his face. Huh, he did watch them. I mean I didn't tell him to watch them, but I was happy he did.
"I didn't tell you to watch them." I said and he shrugged."You said you were sorry for my lack of education. So you kind of did." He said.
"How did you like them?" I asked him. He simply shrugged and looked back towards the field. My jaw dropped. He can't just do that. I was trying to make conversation."That bad?" I pushed and he only shrugged again. I scoffed and crossed my arms over my chest. Unbelievable. Mom came back after a few more minutes and the game finally started. When Cyrus got the ball, I stood up and silently prayed for him to shoot a goal and he did.
I cheered loudly and even clapped. He looked at me and smiled, before waving. I waved back and he got back to playing his game. He was really good and I found myself loving the way he smiled whenever I cheered for him. His team won and I was so happy for him.
When he ran up to us after the game, I pulled him to me and hugged the heck out of him. He giggled and hugged me back.
"You were amazing out there." I said and let him go. He was sweaty and smelly."Did you see Bobby Tyler's pass to me?" He asked with sparkling eyes and I nodded.
"I saw everything." I said and he hugged me again, before telling us he would go and change. Mom, Chandler and I walked back towards the parking lot. Mom told me how happy she was to see us hug and that I should come more often. I definitely will.Chandler on the other hand was really quiet. He watched us smile and laugh with a small smile on his face. When Cyrus finally reached us, he started to walk towards Chandler's car, but I stopped him.
"Would it kill you if you drove with mom? I need to talk to Chandler." I said and he looked at mom's car, before sighing.
"Okay." He gave in and I thanked him. Chandler looked confused for a second, but watched me get into his car without complaining. I took a deep breath once I settled down and waited for him to get in.Here we go.
