CLARKE:
We walk back to camp, and when we enter through the gate, Monty runs up to us.
"Raven and I fixed the radio!" he says enthusiastically.
"That's great! Thank you," I tell him, smiling. Maybe it'll be okay after all.
"It's in here, Raven's already talking to your mom," Monty informs me, leading us to the drop ship.
I stop walking when he mentions my mother.
"You okay?" Bellamy asks, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah," I lie. "Um... I need a minute. Can you go see what the situation is with Raven and the radio?" I ask, meeting his eyes.
He studies my face for a second, and seems to understand. "Yeah, I'll go check it out."
"I'll be there in a minute," I say, even though I won't be over this in a minute.
He looks at me one more time and takes his hand off of my shoulder. I walk back to my tent and sit down on my bed.
I find that my heart is speeding up, along with my breath. The thought of talking to my mom right now is too much. After what she did, I don't know if I can ever talk to her again.
Before I can collect myself and rejoin Bellamy in the drop ship, I hear a voice outside my tent.
"Clarke?" Finn.
"What?" I snap. I'm not in a place to deal with him in the moment.
"Can I come in?"
"Fine."
He opens the tent and walks in, standing by the door. Neither of us say anything at first.
"I don't want to leave you alone," he says finally.
"Finn-"
"Clarke, I want to be with you."
"You have Raven," I tell him, shaking my head.
"I want to be with you," he repeats.
And before I can reply, his lips are on mine and I melt. I'm stuck in trance for a few moments before I remember the situation, and pull away from him.
"Get out. You can't do this to me, okay?" I tell him, raising my voice.
"Clarke-"
"No," I say firmly. "You don't get to sleep with Raven then kiss me the next day. That's not fair to me or her. Get out."
"Is everything okay in here?" I hear Bellamy ask from outside the tent. He doesn't wait a moment before lifting the door and peering in. "Finn, I think she told you to get out of the tent," he says, eyeing Finn.
Finn doesn't want to cause a scene, so he shoves past Bellamy and leaves the tent, but not before giving me a longing look goodbye.
"I could've handled him," I tell Bellamy after Finn is gone.
"I know you could have," Bellamy says, shrugging. "But you shouldn't have had to."
I smile. "How long were you listening?"
"Long enough," he admits. "Your mom's with a patient right now, if you want to talk to the Chancellor. I'm going to go for a walk."
"So I'm avoiding my mom, and you're avoiding the Chancellor," I conclude.
"Well, you didn't tell me you were avoiding your mom," he says. "I kind of figured it out."
"I'm not ready to talk about it yet," I whisper, looking up at him. Wow, he's tall.
"I didn't ask you to," he says. He starts to leave my tent. "See you later?"
"Yeah." I nod. "See you later."
