CLARKE:
It's close to night when Finn and I decide to go. We don't tell anyone; we know that the others might disagree with how we're getting Bellamy. I don't really want to trust Finn, but if he'sgoing to help me get back Bellamy, then I have to.
We walk out of camp, and I'm having trouble staying calm. So much could go wrong. I try to take deep breaths, but it's no use.
"I'm going to get him out safe," Finn says. "I promise."
"You're sure Miller's is going to be just a few minutes behind us?" I asks.
"He said he would."
"Do you think he meant it?"
"Yes, Clarke," Finn says. "I know this is scary, but you just have to talk to her."
Hell no. "I'm not scared of talking to Anya, Finn. I'm capable of doing that. I'm scared that you're not going to get Bellamy, or that you'll both end up trapped there."
"That's not going to happen," Finn assures me.
"You can't guarantee that."
"I promised you, didn't I?"
I don't say anything. The art supply store felt like a promise, a million years ago.
We walk the rest of the way in silence. It's starting to get darker, and colder, and my fears are only growing. I can't lose Bellamy.
We arrive at the fence that guards the village.
"Ready?" Finn asks.
I only nod.
We hold up our hands and walk into the camp. Immediately, there's shouting. It's like Anya had been waiting for us, because she emerges from the crowd and smiles.
"Sky Girl," she greets. "You're here for the prisoner."
"I want to talk." I speak loudly, with confidence.
"Follow me," she says, turning around.
"My friend wants to speak to the prisoner," I tell her, before taking a step.
Anya thinks for a second before calling out to two guards, who seize Finn by the arms and start to walk him to the hut where Bellamy's underground. I nod at him, before turning to face Anya again.
She studies my face, trying to find out my motives. I can tell as I study her in return that she doesn't trust this meeting at all. It doesn't matter. The plan is working. Now all I have to was keep her talking.
Anya walks through the village and I follow, about six feet behind her. We enter somewhere that looked like a throne room.
"Talk," she says, without looking at me.
"We don't want to fight anymore," I tell her. I feel like I've said to her so many times already.
"Because you're losing," Anya replies."You just want the prisoner free."
"Yes. We don't want to lose anyone else. We don't want to kill anyone else."
"That is not how it works on the ground, Sky Girl. Jus drein jus daun." I must look confused, because she translates, "Blood must have blood."
"So are you going to kill him?" I ask, trying to appear neutral.
"No. We want information from him, so we can kill all of you."
"Please, Anya, we didn't mean to start anything. What about a treaty? Some way to live together in peace?"
"You think I'm in charge," Anya says. "I'm not the Commander. Only she can make a treaty with you, and I can guarentee she won't."
"Can I talk with her? Is she here?"
"No," she says.
"Where can I find her?"
"Polis, but it's not close, and not worth your time. Not when she finds out you're an escaped prisoner, and the leader of Skaikru."
"When she finds out I'm an escaped prisoner, you'll be in trouble, not me," I say. I turn to walk out of the door, praying that Bellamy had gotten out by now. "Bye, Anya."
"You're not just walking out of here," she says to me, as guards step into the room and block the door. "Let me check that the prisoner is still there, see if your little distraction was effective."
I freeze. She knows.
"Anya-"
"Save it for your peace talks with the commander," Anya says, walking out of the room.
I just stand there, and don't know what to do. I look around. The room is made of curtains, there has to be a break in the cloth somewhere. I spot one and map out a path to it in my mind. I take a step away from the guards then make a run for it. They shout and I bear them start to chase me, but I don't care. I sprint out of the room and make a sharp left, towards the front of the tent, towards the hut where Bellamy is. I keep running, and Grounders keep shouting all around me. There are civilians, though, and didn't have the weapons to hurt me. I lose speed when I crash into someone.
"Clarke, we got him." It's Miller. He grabs my shoulder for a second and leads me in a different path. We keep running until we're outside of the village, and in the woods.
"Where are they?" I say, panting, as we slow down.
"I think they headed back to the dropship."
"Okay, let's go!" I call, running back there again.
Miller groans but followed me. I'm not going to stop running until I see that Bellamy's safe.
I know it's been so long since I updated, I'm sorry! I keep saying "I'm going to update regularly now" but not doing it, so I'm sorry. There's only two chapters left, and I hope to get them to you soon!
