CLARKE:

I'm in my tent, trying to work out the whole Finn mess in my head, when I hear shouting outside. I run out, to see an unconscious Bellamy, his arms wrapped around two others. There's a knife in him, a cut in his shirt, blood surrounding it. My heart almost stops beating.

I sprint to the people holding him. "What happened?" I shout.

"That Grounder stabbed him," one of them says, turning their head to show another group of people, carrying an unconscious Grounder.

My head is spinning but I manage a response. "Get him to the drop ship," I tell them.

I see Octavia, whose face was wet with tears. I run over to her. "Octavia, what happened?" I ask.

"Bellamy accidentally shot Lincoln, then Lincoln stabbed him, then Bellamy said to take Lincoln, they're going to hold him prisoner!" she says, crying.

None of that really makes sense to me, but I just pretend it does and rush to the dropship.

Bellamy is on the operating table, still not awake. I know what I have to do.

"Raven!" I call to outside the drop ship.

She comes running up and everything with Finn is forgotten between us.

"I need to talk to mom for an operation," I say breathlessly.

"I'll set it up," she tells me, running in the drop ship.

I follow her but stay near Bellamy. He looks so helpless, so unlike the powerful version of him that I'm used to. I don't like seeing him seem so small.

"Okay, Dr. Griffin," Raven says into the radio. "Here's Clarke."

"Clarke!" I hear my mom say.

I shudder. It's not the time to think about my dad. I can't. "I need help. Bellamy's been hurt."

"Bellamy Blake?" I can practically see her face wrinkle in confusion. "Clarke, he shot the Chancellor."

"Mom, I know, but he's going to die, and I can't have him die. He can't die," I tell her, panicking.

"Okay, what's wrong with him?"

"He was stabbed, maybe ten minutes ago. The knife is in between his sixth and seventh ribs."

"Is there anything still leaking from the wound?"

"The bleeding has stopped."

"That's good. We have to remove the knife." She pauses. "You have to keep the angle it's at right now, or else you could create internal bleeding. Clarke, if you don't do this right..." I can hear what she wants to finish the sentence with.

"Okay," I say, shakily.

I grip my hand on the knife and take a deep breath. I can do this. I'm not going to lose Bellamy.

I start to slide the blade out of him, as I did, he groans. He's waking up. This is not the time for it.

"Bellamy, I need you to stay still," I tell him, as he starts to scream. "The knife will be out in a second if you stay still."

He looks like he's fighting himself to move, but I can't focus on him. I have to concentrate on getting the knife out. I pull it out slowly, and he winces in pain. I blink back tears. I can't let emotions get in the way. I have to save Bellamy.

I keep sliding the knife out, until I can see the tip of the blade. "It's out, Bellamy," I say, smiling. "You're going to be okay."

He moans in response, but at least he's still awake. I go over to him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"You need to stay awake, Bellamy," I say, but his eyes are closing. "Look at me." I put my hand on his cheek.

His eyes flutter open for a second to meet mine, but then they fall shut.
