BELLAMY:

I don't want to go to Clarke's tent. If I see her on her bed, knowing that she wants me, too, but can't be with me, I'll just hurt myself further. But I have to talk to her.

"Clarke?" I call from outside her tent. I'm not going in there.

"Yeah?" she asks, opening the tent. She sees that it's me and she tears her eyes away. "Bellamy..."

"I just want to talk," I say, running a hand through my hair. "Can we go to the river?"

"Can't we talk in here?" she asks.

"I don't think that's a good idea..."

She sighs. "Okay, fine, but not for too long."

I nod as she walks out of her tent. We start towards the gate.

"I don't think we should do this," I say.

"Do what?"

"Hold our feelings back."

She stops walking and looks at me. "We have more important things to worry about. Like regulating guns, keeping the camp in line, communicating with the Ark, surviving the winter, dealing with the Grounders and who knows what else. We have to do those things. We don't have to be together."

"I have to." I tell her, gently grasping her hand.

"What?" she asks, looking down at our hands.

"I have to. It'll just hurt us if we don't get to try us. I want to be with you, more than I want to regulate guns and everything else. We're a priority for me. And if you don't care about me, if you don't care about us, I need you to tell me now. You're in this or you're not."

She opens her mouth to speak, but we're both distracted by a scream. We turn our heads to the front of the gate where we see that one of our guards is down. The other guard appears to be fighting someone.

Clarke starts running forward, but I put my arm in front of her. "Don't," I say. "We don't know what's out there."

"I might still be able to help him!" she cries.

Suddenly, three Grounders run into our camp, with our both guards killed. I pull out my gun and try to shoot them, but I only get one.

"That's her!" one of the Grounders calls, in English. Then, they say something else I don't understand.

I run in front of Clarke. "Don't take her, take me! Don't touch her!"

"Don't worry," the Grounder says, with a hint of a smile. "We're taking both of you."

That is the last thing I hear before I am knocked out.

Sorry for the short chapter! The next few chapters are going to have more action, which I'm not the best at writing, so bear with me. Vote and comment to let me know if you liked this chapter, thanks!
