Chapter 9

Jakes POV-

I woke to light hitting my face, not a pleasant way to wake I thought to myself as I rolled onto my side. I could have sworn that I fell asleep in the arms of one very sexy boy named Devin, guess he left.

The door opened quietly and in walked none other than Devin.

“It lives.” He joked.

“Ha-ha.” I said chuckling.

“Seriously Jay, you could sleep through an attack.”

“I have.” I said my smile turning into a frown.

“Wait, you mean you didn’t know what was going on that night?” he asked with a disbelieving voice.

“Yeah. I didn’t know anything was happening.” I said turning away from him.

“Well, don’t take this the wrong way, but maybe that’s a good thing. I wish I could never remember.” He told me. “Anyway, any chance that you’re hungry? ‘cus I sure as hell am.”

“Yeah, let’s go.” I said getting off the floor and walking out the door, Devin next to me.

I felt a soft hand wrap around my own and I couldn’t help but look at Devin who was starring softly at me.

“Come on.” He said with a smile, looking away from me. “The food will probably be gone by the time that we get there.”

“True, there are a lot of wolves here.” I said with a nod.

“Forget the wolves; I’m talking about the humans.” He said, widening his eyes. “Do you have any idea how much some boys eat?”

“I can guess.” I said with a chuckle. “Now hurry up, I’m hungry.”

I could hear him chuckling from behind me as I pulled him to the cafeteria.

“JAKE!” Zach shouted to me from a table on the opposite side of the cafeteria.

 “I wonder where Zach is.” I said looking at Devin.

“Yeah, I wonder.” He said.

“Guys over here!” he shouted again only this time waving his arms above his head.

“That there is my best friend everyone.” I said shaking my head.

“That there is the reason that I don’t have friends.” Devin said as we made our way to the table that Zach was at.

“I thought it was because no one wants to be friends with you.” Zach said as we sat down.

“That could be part of it.” Devin said with a nod.

“Any who,” I said turning away from my weird ass mate to Zach. “Any word from the others?”

“Not yet.” He said with a shake of his head. “The pups seem to be settling in well.”

“Good.” I said with a nod. What tim-“

“Oh yeah I got you food and it’s only a little after 7:00am.” Zach said cutting me off.

“Oh my gods! thanks!” I said throwing my arms around my best friend.

“Why are you hyper?” He asked, narrowing his eyes. “Did you give him Coffee?” he asked turning to Devin.

“Yeah so?” Devin said confused.

“He never and I mean never drinks coffee.” Zach said with a frown.

“Oh. That explains why he’s been acting weird.”

“No shit.”

“Guys I’m right here you know.” I said waving my hand in front of Zach.

“Now he’s gunna be hyper all day.” Zach said rubbing his eyes.

“Guys.” I said waving my hands more.

“what are we gunna do?” Devin asked Zach.

“Don’t ignore me.” I said and of course that’s what they did, ignore me. Fine, they want to be that way then so be it.

“Food , food, food.” I said before scooping the food from the plate Zach had made me and putting it in my mouth. Pancakes. I love pancakes.

“What do you think we should do?” Zach asked Devin, still ignoring me.”

“Oops.” I muttered after some pancake fell onto Devin, right next to his crotch. I swear I didn’t plan it. Guess I’ll just have to clean it up I thought to myself.

I reached down and carefully picked the pancake off of Devin’s thigh before putting it in my mouth.

I looked up and saw Devin and Zach staring at me. Devin looked like he wanted to eat me while Zach looked like he was going to burst out laughing. Let him laugh, I wasn’t going to let some perfectly good pancake go to waste.

“What?” I asked around my bite of pancake.

“Did you just…?” Zach trailed off.

“Yeah, so what? It was a perfectly good piece of pancake.” I huffed.

“Oh my god, Devin, your face,” Zach laughed. “you look like you’re about to die.”

“I might.” He said.

“Done. Now let’s go train people’s.” I said.

“But it’s not 7:30am yet.” Zach said.

“Yes it is.” I said pointing to the clock on the wall next to us.

“Son of a three legged dog, it is.” Zach said.

“Three legged dog?” Devin asked Zach.

“Sasha doesn’t like it when I swear.” He said. “I read it in a book I think.”

“Yeah, an Artemis Fowl I think.” I said. They both looked at me. “What?” i asked.

“How did you know that?” Devin asked.

“Well, I had a lot of time on my hands, so I would read.” I said with a shrug. “Now let’s get training.”

I'm suffering from writers block! ach! YOu know, i started this book thinking, "Eh no one will read it." cuse my othe books have only 40 and under reads each and now I have over 4,000 reads and 100 votes! I love you guys.
