Chapter 27

"Get away from me," I growled.

She smiled, "Not likely. You see, I've put up with all your crap so I could get to this moment. I am so looking forward to torturing you. You're so weak, I'm sure breaking a nail would almost kill you."

I struggled against my restraints and bared my teeth in pain. I really need to stop letting the silver keep getting into me.

Maddie chuckled, smirking slightly, "Please, keep struggling, I'd love to see you die from all that silver."

"You won't win," I told her, "Liam will come looking and he'll me and he will kill you."

"It doesn't matter if I die," She spoke and took a step towards me, eyes narrowed, "As long as you die, too."

I shook my head, "I don't plan on dying."

She stood up straight, smiling eerily, "Nor do I."

As she walked back over to the wall, I pushed my luck, "You know, for someone who's ready to die, you didn't do much to me. Oh, wait! Were you trying to scare me with words? Let me go get my mommy!"

"You can't get your mom because she's dead!" She screamed, "We killed her!"

As much as I wanted to curl up and cry at that, I stood my ground, "Did your mom die? Is that why you're so cruel? Is that the reason you're such a cold, heartless human being?"

"I'm not heartless," She snapped, "I have a mate, for your information, and he loves me just as much as I love him."

"Your poor mate," I countered.

She stalked over to me and grabbed my pinkie, "Say it again, I dare you."

"Your. Poor. Mate," I ground out, eyes narrowed. She bent my pinkie back with force and I clenched my teeth in pain when a crack sounded.

Maddie smiled sadistically, "Lesson learned? I think so."

"No. I think you wouldn't know what love is if it hit you in the face with a brick," I told her, then added as an afterthought, "Which you could use, by the way. That nose job doesn't do you much justice at all.."

"You bitch!" She shouted, slapping me across the face. My head hit the table, considering I was still tied down. Looking back at her, I smiled and thanked her. Fuming, she stormed out of the room. When the door opened, I saw Justin pull her in for a kiss.

Justin was her mate.

Before the door could close, a man walked in. A man I didn't want to see.

My pinkie was throbbing in pain, head pounding from it being moved so quickly on this table and my wrists were rubbed raw from the silver ropes. But nothing scared me more than the person in front of me.

Morgan smiled, "Did you miss me, my dear?"

I couldn't speak.

Walking towards me, I could see his eyes had this flicker of cynical enjoyment, "How unfortunate that you hit your pinkie on the table. I'd hoped you'd be in perfect condition for my visit."

Of course he knew Maddie broke my pinkie and not this damned table.

"Are we suddenly too shy to talk?" He questioned, standing at the edge of the table and looking down on me, "That's too bad. I could've made you a deal."

"Why are you doing this?" I suddenly blurted and I felt even more fear rise up in me. Why couldn't I keep my big trap shut?

His smile dropped and his expression darkened, "Revenge."

Now I was curious, "Revenge on what? I never did anything to you!"

"I never said it was you," He stated, "You just happened to get in the middle of things. A shame, really. Had you not been Liam's mate, you wouldn't be effected at all."

I swallowed my fear, "Fate works in strange ways."

"Indeed it does," He mused, "And that's quite unfortunate for you."

"Liam's gonna come and get me," I told him.

Morgan's lips curved into a Grinch-like smile, "Yes, I'm anticipating that. Now, tell me, do you know how he will come and get you? What are the pack's attack strategies."

Lie! My instincts scream to me. So I do, "They'll probably strike by air."

"Air?" He questions.

I nod, "You see, we recently just got a pack plane, meaning we can launch down with parachutes, taking everyone out much easier. And they'll probably have a land group at first in human form after the wave of parachutists. It's quite simple, actually."

"Simple? That's quite complex, actually," He mutters and zones off, as if thinking, and I know I've convinced him that it's the truth. He begins to walk to the spot on the wall that turns into a door. As he reaches it, he turns back to face me, "For your help, you might have a chance of survival."

"How?" I question.

"With me," He smiles and exits the room.

When he leaves, I feel like gagging. I know that I'd rather be ripped apart, piece by piece, than stay alive and be with Morgan.

Staring up at the white ceiling, I let a few tears spill out of my eyes. Thoughts of doubt began to fill my mind. What if they didn't come get me? What if we win, but they can't find the hidden door? What if Morgan kills Liam?

No, I scold myself, stop being negative. You know Liam will stop at nothing to rescue you

But what if Morgan gets to him first?

Suddenly I hear a piercing howl, a recognizable one, too. Panicked shouts are muffled but still get through to me faintly. I can make one word out as it's frantically shouted by everyone outside of the room.

Attack!

The door of my cell flies open and Morgan is standing there, livid. He growls and spits at me, "You lied to me!"

"What?" I ask, confused.

He snarls, "The air strike? It didn't happen."

His hand is on my forearm, his nails digging into my flesh, "I told you what I knew! I swear I thought that's what they were gonna do!"

My voice, pleading and expression must've convinced him because he let go. He snarled one last time, "If you'll excuse me, I have a certain Alpha to kill."

As he slams the door shut behind him, my body goes numb. All I could do was close my eyes and hope that Liam would be okay.

A/N: Yay an update! What do you guys think? Next chapter will probably be Liam's P.O.V :-)
