He rubs his head before looking at me, immediately he sits up before getting off the ground and offering me his hand. I decline before getting up on my own.
"What the fuck did you think you were doing?" I ask immedately, giving him a push. "I could've had him, but now he's gone."
"We could still run after him." Cry tries, already turning the way the man ran.
"It's to no use, he's too far away already. We'll never catch him now." I sigh, before dialing Chad's number. Instead of picking up I see his car waiting at the end of the alleyway already. "Good job, Cry. I'm proud of you." I say a bit mockingly before running out of the alleyway, motioning to Chad to start driving already before I jump into the car."You don't look too happy." He notes. I can only sigh, I am too grumpy to react to him now. That wannabe superhero ruined it all for me, I couldn't get it out of my mind. I would've gotten him if it weren't for that masked idiot.
We reach our house and I immediately let myself fall down on the couch. I don't even pull off the suit. Chad enters after me and pushes my legs away a bit so he can sit down.
"What happened?" He questions and I sigh once again.
"I almost had him when Cry runs into me and we both fall. The guy got away, that lady will probably never see her purse again. What if it had some stuff in it that was very dear to her, like a special necklace or a gift for her dying daughter or something."
"(Y/n), you tried your best. You didn't catch this guy but before this you had every single person you went after, don't let one negative thing break your spirit." He says and I smile lightly.
"Chad, you act like an idiot goofball a lot, but you're a very smart guy." I note, giving him a pat on his shoulder.
"Of course I'm smart, how else would I have finished a study about atoms and such?" He says with a proud grin. "About that, I fixed those targets for Cry, if you still want to train with him."
"I have to, I'm afraid." I say. "He had a point, I don't really have attacking powers. I mean, I have the knives but that's it. Cry is all attack and I'm all stealth and hiding. Together we make a good team, he just has to stop being such an idiot."
Chad nods quickly and we decide to just watch a movie for now, just to relax a bit after a hard day.
The next day Chad has to work again, which means that Hidden Death would take a day off as well, seeing as she didn't have anyone to drive her around. My job had called me several days ago and fired me because I never showed up anymore. I had to look for another job really, the bills weren't going to pay themselves, but that was a task for another day.
I was contemplating about my day, should I train at the old barn or not? I could take a bus to the outskirts of town but then I'd have to walk a long way to actually reach the barn itself. If I'd go though, would I train alone, or with Cry?
Even thinking of training and being with Cry makes me tired, so I call up Ryan to see if he wants to hang out. He replies almost immediately and says that he's already in the mall, drinking some coffee somewhere.
He invites me to join him, and I decide that it'd be best for me to get out of the house for now. I decide to just go in my pyjama pants and a black t-shirt, my hair pulled up in a ponytail quickly. I reach the mall in a few minutes, thanks to the amazing buss driver who drove slightly faster when I explained that someone was waiting on me.
"Hey Ryan!" I say when I see him sitting at a cute coffee shop. The smell of freshly baked doughnuts reaches me and immediately my stomach growls. I sit down at his table and he greets me with a nice smile.
A girl in a light blue dress, a small name tag pinned into it, walks towards us. The bouncing in her step is really cute to me. "Good morning, what can I do for you?"
"Some tea please." I say quickly. "Just Earl Grey if you have."
"And two doughnuts, the girl gets to pick which." Ryan says, a wink towards the girl before he winks to me as well. I stand up and walk with the girl inside before picking out the pink one for me, and a yellow one with chocolate sprinkles for Ryan.
"Stay nice to him, I'd die for a guy like him." The girl tells me with a smirk, before handing me the treats. I walk back to the table with a small smile. The fact that more and more people had started to believe that Ryan and I were a couple amused me for some reason.
I sit down at the table again and hand him his doughnut. "So, how're you doing, (Y/n)?" He asks and I smile at him before shrugging my shoulders lightly.
"Normal, as always." I answer. "Way better now that I have this sweetness in my life." I say before taking a bite of the doughnut. "Thanks, by the way, for inviting me here."
"Not a problem," He answers. "It's always a bit nicer to sit with two people than alone. Besides, we haven't really hung out together, like just the two of us I mean, a lot. Really like this already." At his last sentence the girl walks back outside and smiles quickly.
"Here you go," She says as she places down my tea. "Oh, and, I just wanted you to know... You guys are really cute together."
Ryan blushes immediately before looking at me with a smile, as if he wants to apologise for her. I just smile back at him, holding up a hand for a high-five. "Yes!" I joke loudly. "We're cute together!"
Just some quality (Y/n) and Ryan time for you guys, sorry for the late update but I'm going through a rough time. I'm glad to write this again though!
