Luna
My alarm blared out next to me signaling the morning.
"Fuuuuuhhkkk" I groaned out regretting every moment of the morning.
I rolled over on my back and just laid staring at my ceiling.
Get up Luna. You need your hit before school. You won't be able to make it if you don't.
I slowly dragged myself up off the cotton sheets and stretched.
Then the itching started. Not like literal itches but my skin tingled on the inside.
Like right under my layer of skin it would itch. That was my signal. I grabbed my box under my bed and got my supplies.
Wrapping the resistance band around my bicep I tied it off waiting for my vein to pulse.
I got the little vile and filled the needle up. Once the vein was ready I gently slip the metal inside.
I pushed the end releasing the heroine into my bloodstream.
I sat back releasing a huge breath then removing the tie.
For a minute I just floated in space and time. This had become my reality. Floating in a dream. The feeling I longed for. Craved. Had even fallen in love with.
The high was my lover and he never let me down. He never abandoned me and he showed me things about the world. He loved me like no one else could.
No wonder my parents were so drawn to him.
My cousin Mariah broke my thoughts knocking on the door. "Hey Cuz time for school. You goin back today right?"
As much as I dreaded it I had to go back. My parole officer said if I didn't start back to school that I was going strait to prison.
No pass go. No collecting $200.
I moaned. "Yeah Riah. I'll be ready in 20 okay."
"Alright. Make it 10. I wanna get there early to see the Senior Art Display. A friend of mine has some stuff in it."
I picked up my hand making mouthing movements while she talked. Blah blah blah
"Okayyy. 10. I got it. Thanks byeeee." I said sarcastically.
I heard her walk away while getting up to grab my clothes. Shower time.
----------"Well. This beats taking that fuckin bus everywhere." I said making small talk with Mariah.
She had moved away from her parents at a young age and she took me in. I work as a waitress to help with the bills and my habits.
"Yeah I bet. I would hate catchin that thing every day." she said.
We pulled up to the school and walked inside goin our seperate ways. She stopped me before going to her locker.
"Hey. We can meet at the car after school. I'll see you then."
I nodded and walked off. I hadn't been inside a school in months but I guess this was becoming my new reality. At least I'm a Senior right.
On my way to my locker I saw a familiar face walking past. He didn't notice me look but I saw him.
I remembered his green and golden eyes but I don't remember where from.
I shook the feeling and continued on.
I didn't feel like going to the art show right now. Maybe I'd go at lunch.I sat in my first period homeroom watching the announcements with the rest of the class.
Uckk. School is so fuckin corny. I could be livin my life but instead I'm here watchin this bulls-
