Over the few weeks this took a bit of a change, the shield that Steve liked was now colored, red, white, and blue.
He and the Howling Commandos took out a lot of stronger holds' while I had to stay back with Peggy and Howard.
But that was okay because when I was with Peggy, she went to her own house and would normally start a fire in the fireplace, grabbed a book, and the sit in on of the reclining chairs.
While she did that I would jump into her lap and just nap while I felt the heat soak through my fur making me very warm and sleepy.
When I was with Howard he would usually either be in the lab or if Steve was taking the 'night-shift' then I would go home with Howard.
He would usually go to his lab and stay there very late, I learned that the first time it happened. I had to bark at him because with was one in the morning and he had this thing at like six thirty if I remembered correctly.
Pretty much Howard glanced at me confused as I pawed at the door of his lab (it was made of pure iron and seemed to be always closed unless he put in the code).
It took a few seconds until he looked at the clock and swore (bad Howard!) before making sure his stuff was stable before rushing to let me out and then into bed for sleep.
Whenever this happened he actually forgot I wasn't allowed on the bed, so I would jump on it and sleep on the side that no one occupied or by his feet (which he liked better).
When Steve was home he mostly spent time at the camp, which I was fine with, but if it was like a weekend we would head back to his dinky little apartment that he had with Bucky (they both apparently paid for it) and we would do dog/man stuff.
He had a rubber ball, which if it was anyone except Steve, Bucky, Peggy, or Howard I would've been embarrassed by.
But that annoying squeaky noise always captured my attention.
So when I did capture it, my jaws could barely hold it and I would squeeze it very proud that I have captured it and was now making it suffer for the insufferable noise it had.
Steve found it adorable, while Bucky was amused and would have this sort of toy that he somehow found and would throw it, capturing my attention, and when I did find it would tell me to bring it back.
How he found that stupid stick I wouldn't know, but if he thought he was going to take it he was out of his mind.
So I would walk confidently over wagging my tail proudly as the stick twice my side was in my mouth.
Bucky would grab one end and tell me to drop it, but of course I didn't. It was mine!
So he tugged one end, making me tug the other. Some days he would just lift the stick so I would just dangle from my side but I was stubborn if anything.
Of course Steve found it way too amusing whenever Bucky got annoyed that I would just dangle there with the stick in my mouth than giving it up.
This was one of the few missions I was allowed to go with them, rescue/take down missions.
Most of the time when it was stealth they wanted me, because of my small stature, I could work with a camera on my back, mic in my ear, and allow them to guide me places, that and I would begrudgingly let them put a small first-aid kit on my back that could also hold water.
When I was first introduced I hated it and how the weight was added on my back, I always shook it off.
The people who put it on always had to kinda tackle me down, which was hard because I was small and squirmy, and when they almost gave up lost hope.
Steve strode in looking both confused and amused, when asked what they were doing he looked even more confusing and grabbed the bag.
He motioned me to come to him, me being his faithful companion did so not looking very happy.
"Stay and hold still." Steve said and I allowed him to put the bag around me resisting the urge to bite his hand from strapping the bag under me.
I shifted and felt the bottom of it graze my belly and huffed, it felt weird and I hated the weight.
Steve moved back when it seemed that it was on and I gave him my best wolf glare but didn't move, he did say stay.
"Don't throw it off." Bucky added off to the side sipping some water.
I huffed and carefully moved around Steve trying to get use to the bag, but the bottom strap kept rubbing my stomach in that awkward way that was already leaving a rash from all the times it was put on me.
So I did a rational thing, I started to squirm on my back and tried to shake it off, moving from the hands that were trying to keep me still.
"Percy." A sharp tone rang out making me freeze and get dog-handled until I felt familiar hands push other people away and pick me up.
Peggy was raising an eyebrow as she handed me to Steve, in which I was still squirmy because the bag kept rubbing my stomach and it was starting to itch and I was hating it very much.
"What's wrong boy?" Steve muttered, his tone wasn't sharp now but instead confused.
I squirmed until he set me down where I carefully laid down, showing them that I wasn't going to throw it, before rolling on my back hoping that it would ease the pressure of the bumpy-feeling strap.
"Steve look." Bucky muttered softly as he knelt beside me, he carefully moved the strap showing just a few missing hairs but a distinct red line that was starting to show, "No wonder he hates it." Bucky said before unclipping the bag and allowing me freedom.
Instantly I stood up and danced around happy that there wasn't any more rubbing, "What do we do now then?" Steve asked confused as he felt the strap.
"I suggest you boys' take it to Howard like you should've done in the beginning." Peggy said as I danced around her feet.
"Right." Steve muttered looking a bit embarrassed.
Which is how I now have this cool, smooth bag, there was no rash, I could barely feel the weight difference, and it was just so cool it felt like a backpack that I would wear if I was in my human form.
It also had this extra bit where I could pretty much be strapped onto Steve, I didn't like it too much but if it meant I could go on missions then I lived with it.
Which is how I had somehow weaseled my way onto this train mission. I was sorta sitting in front of Steve's shield on his back, the straps on the bag connected to a clips on his uniform, barely noticeable and Steve couldn't tell they were there.
I could easily unclip myself if I needed too, or when Steve moved for his Shield, the clips would instantly come undone so I could get down and into safety.
I curled myself into safety as Steve got ready to zip-line down to the train that was our mission.
To be continued.....
Note: Obviously we are getting near Bucky's 'death' part. Which will be next chapter so please prepare yourself until then.
Important Note: So this is a bit of a spoiler so be prepared....I plan on Percy living with Howard and eventually Tony, his wolf form slowly aging so he would age with Tony in a way. I was wondering if you just wanted me to put it in this book or make a sort of sequel, and then another sort of sequel with the Avengers? Pretty much it'll just me doing one-shots of Tony/!WolfPercy moments ....
