Chase gave me the little, what up, head nod then looked down at his phone.

"Denny I gotta go, but I'll see you later tonight ok?" He says kissing her cheek as he walks of the bus.

Hayden and I stand in silence looking at each other not saying a word. Finally I work up the nerve to break the silence, I just can't take this anymore.

"Denny? Really?" I say shaking my head as I storm off to the back of the bus.

"Shawn! Wait! C'mon." I hear Hayden call after me.

"I was going to tell you" I can now hear her footsteps thudding after me.

"I-I just didn't know how"  she finally says quietly I hear her stop behind me.

I turn around shaking my head as I look down at my shoes. I can't believe this, I actually thought I could have a chance with her, I actually thought she liked me.

"I'm sorry Shawn" she whispers "I really am"

"Yeah me too" I mutter as I push my way to the front of the bus again.

You have a show tonight Shawn, focus on that please, I think to myself as I sulk off the bus and head towards the amphitheater.

Hayden's POV
Ok so not what I expected to happen that's for sure. But I can't help but wonder, why was he taking this so horribly. Why wasn't he happy for me? Why was he so pissed that I had someone?

Ok maybe I had been giving him a little of the wrong message. A lot of the wrong message. But I told him that day on the bus that I couldn't be with him. I guess he didn't put two and two together.

I do feel horrible now though, Sophie was right. As usual. I should have told him before. I should have given him a reason as to why I couldn't kiss him.

I don't want to think about Shawn right now though. I have one more show to photograph then I get to spend a week! A whole week with my family, Sophie and best of all Chase.

I grab my camera and head off the bus my head held high as if nothing had ever happened, nothing at all.

"So Denny, where to first?" Chase asks his fingers drumming the steering wheel of his old pickup truck.

"I dunno. Anywhere" I reply pulling off my chacos and propping my feet up on the dashboard.

"To the lake then" he says making a left turn. "We just have to make one stop first"

I smile and turn the volume up on his radio, all I get is static.

"Do you have an AUX chord?" I ask turning the radio off and pulling out my phone.

"Yeah go ahead and dig around in the glove box. You'll probably find one there" he says nodding his head.

"Perfect" I reply grinning sticking my hand into his cluttered glove box. When I finally find one I scroll through my playlist until I find one of our favorites. H.O.L.Y by Florida Georgia Line.

Chase smiles when he hears the beat his fingers loudly tap the steering wheel to the beat. I hum along until he nudges me in the side encouraging me to sing.

"Your Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy! I'm high on lovin you. High on lovin you"

Chase grins when he hears my voice.

"Yeah I'm high on loving yoooou" I sing, finishing the song just as we pull into the parking lot of a mall.

"God damn I love your voice" he says nestling his head on my shoulder.
