I wonder into the largest office I have ever seen, suddenly feeling out of place in a grey romper and gold heels, Iced Coffee in hand."You must be Miss. March, hi I'm the head of island records, and this here is your manager Andrew Gertler"
I shake both of their hands even though, I know exactly who Andrew is.
"Where do I start?", I ask sitting down and smoothing the front of my romper.
"We're thinking two singles in six months, then an album in eight, you'll be touring starting three months after the first single has been dropped singing teasers and covers. Don't worry it'll be a small tour, malls, parks, festivals. Oh, and stick with Shawn. It's good publicity", He says without taking a breath.
I blink trying to register everything he's just said.
"Will I have time to go home at all?"
"Oh yes, were releasing your single in one week, but until then you may go back to Dallas. If I were you I'd buy a nice condo here, and set up a banking account, you start making money almost immediately"
"Is that it?", I ask beginning to stand up out of my chair.
"Yes, for now", Andrew says, "I'll call you with anything else"
I smile at them and shake both of their hands again then, I rush out of the building to catch an uber back to the little studio. I honestly would like to head home right away. Even though it might hurt at first. I miss Hunter, and my parents and Sophie.
"Hey darlin' you doin ok?", My driver asks as I climb into the back of a grey Honda Accord.
"Yeah, thank you ", I smile back at her.
The ride back to the studio is quick and silent, there are just so many things going through my mind, that I don't even feel the need to have music playing.
When the car stops, I climb out fast and thank my driver with a grin.
"Shawnie boy I'm back", I call, my voice echoing through the walls of the house.
"Hey, how was it", he yells from somewhere unknown in the house.
"good, but"
"but what?'
"I'm going home for a week", I breath out, suddenly afraid.
Suddenly I feel a pair of arms wrap around me from behind, "you'll be fine", he whispers into my ear.
"Yeah I hope so"

My bags are packed and Shawn and I stand in the airport drinking coffee.
It seems like I've been doing that a lot lately. Both, being in airports and drinking coffee.
"When will you be back?", he complains, making me smile.
"It's only a week Shawn, I think you can handle yourself for a week"
"Yeah yeah ok"
My plane gets called and I give Shawn's hand a squeeze before heading into the line to board the plane. In a few short hours I'll be home.
I love plane rides, putting on music and just watching the world from up that high gives you time to think. Hours and hours of just you and your thoughts. To some people that can drive them crazy, for me though it's like I'm cleaning my room. Organizing all these thoughts, looking over good ones and throwing out bad ones.
