"Shawn" Hayden says quietly knocking on the door of my hotel room. "Can we talk please"
I sigh , get up off my bed and pad over to the door. I hesitate a second before opening it I don't even want to begin to think about what she has to say. The second she read my plan and I tired explaining it to her she stormed out of my room and she's been gone all afternoon and evening. I have no clue what time it is but it's probably late.
"Hey" I say quietly, pulling the door open and letting her into my room.
"Hey" She says looking down taking a seat on the edge of my bed, "Ive been thinking, and I shouldn't have reacted like that it was stupid and selfish of me." I glance at her and shake my head.
"No it wasn't I should have asked you first, before I started to plan it out." I tell her.
"Shawn just let me finish please" she says looking up at me with those gorgeous hazel eyes. So I nod sit down and let her continue.
"It really was unfair of me to act like that, its not like you're asking me to marry you or anything. Its just singing two songs. But Shawn I don't think I can open up for you, the duet maybe but the solo, no way. I don't sing in front of people, I thought you of all people knew that. Im to shy and I'm not ready to sing on big stages like that. I'll sing the duet, but there is no way Im going out on that stage alone, I can't. Shawn Im sorry."
I close my eyes and sigh in frustration. Im frustrated with myself for trying to make her do this when I know how shy she is, and frustrated with her because she's to blind to see what Im trying to do for her. I know she wants to do something bigger than photography, I heard her say it the first day I met her, after I told her I loved the pictures she took, and then left her sitting alone on the bus. "Hayden please consider this, you are amazing, I don't want to be the only person who knows about your talent, I know you write songs, Ive heard you sing some of them. Other people need to know about you."
"Chase knows about me" she mumbles
Ouch. That hurt. I bite my lip and don't say anything for a long time. Hayden realizes what she said and her eyes go wide.
"Shawn! No, Im sorry, I didn't mean it like that." She says quickly covering her face with her hands.
"yes you did" I say shaking my head.
"Will you be on the stage?" She asks quietly, "You know while Im singing by myself".
The corners of my mouth twitch up into a small smile, "If you want me to, I can play piano, or guitar or whatever you need. If you want me out there" I say.
She nods, "Id like that a lot"
"Wait so you're?" I start to say
"Yes Shawn I'll do it" She says rolling her eyes, but there is a grin on her face as she gets up to hug me.
HAYDENS POV
I know Shawn got me to do the right thing. I have been thinking about what he said. How more people need to hear my voice. People that aren't him or Chase. I did mean to offend him when I said Chase knew about me but I instantly regretted it after the words left my lips. After our conversation, it was very late, I couldn't sleep though. I lay on the still made bed in my hotel room staring at the ceiling in total darkness. I guess you could say I didn't end up getting much sleep, so when Andrew came knocking on my door this morning I was not in the mood for his cheery tour conversations.
"C'mon Hayden lets go! we leave for the airport in a hour and I know how long it takes you to get ready" He says poking his head in my door. I groan and roll over to look at the clock. 7:15.
