Lucas and I lay in bed together, he ran his fingers up and down my spine, I could tell he was still upset.

When the phone rang on the night stand beside the bed, Lucas sat up to answer it.

"No don't send her up, I'll come down." Lucas said, he hung up the phone and pulled on a pair of jeans and a button up shirt.

"Anna's here."

"Do you want me to come down with you?" I asked sitting up in bed.

"No."

Lucas walked out of the room, I got up and got dressed, I ordered room service then went out to the couch to wait for Lucas.

Lucas was gone for almost 10 minutes, when he came back up his face was red, he was mad again.

I got up off the couch and walked over to him.

"What did she want?"

"Money. We're leaving. Pack your stuff." He pushed past me and went into the bedroom, I could hear drawers slamming.

"Lucas calm down."

I moved closer to him but flinched away when he turned around and screamed at me to stop.

I backed away from him. Lucas's face softened when he seen the way I flinched away from him.

"Babe I'm sorry, come here." I was surprised that he actually wanted to comfort me after he yelled at me. When I didn't move Lucas walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me.

I kept my arms to my sides.

"I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to yell at you." Lucas whispered, running his fingers through the back of my hair.

"Did you give her any?"

"No, you didn't notice her withdrawing at the coffee shop?"

I shook my head. "I didn't pay much attention to her." Witch was true, I hated hearing her asking Lucas so much about his company and money, so I tuned them out.

"I do want to go home, she's just going to keep showing up if we stay."

I nodded my head and Lucas let go of me, just then the room service arrived with our food.

While we sat on the couch and ate I bought some plane tickets to get back home.

When we both finished eating, I cleaned up and went into the bedroom to repack for Lucas and pack my things.

I left out an outfit for Lucas and I to wear home tomorrow.

The next morning when we woke up, Lucas called a car service to take us to the airport, when we were notified by the lobby that the car had arrived A bell hop came in to carry our luggage down.

We stepped off the elevator and walked down the small hallway into the lobby, Anna stood by the car.

"Your leaving so soon? Why? Lucas I know your not leaving yet, we have barely had a chance to get to know each other , why are you leaving?"

I glared at Anna, she was obviously messed up. Lucas ignored her and tipped the bell hop who put our bags into the trunk of the car.

"We'll do you think you could give me a little money, so I can eat tonight." Anna begged.

Lucas gave her a dirty look then took a crumpled five dollar bill out of his pocket and gave it to Anna. She looked at the money then back to Lucas, then her eyes met mine.

"Marie, dear. Please?" Lucas pulled me over to him, he ducked into the back seat of the car and I followed.

The plane ride home was quiet, when we got back to Lucas's house he carried our bags up stairs and sat them inside his bedroom.

When he came back down the steps he had a bag of weed in his hand, he stood in the kitchen and broke it up into a wrap.

We went outside and sat down to smoke, Gabe and Abby joined us, Abby and I talked about her wedding plans, she asked me to be the maid of honor and Gabe asked Lucas to be his best man.

Tonight was the last night Gabe and Abby were staying in the pool house, Gabe had already gathered some wood for a fire, we all sat up pretty late.

The next morning when Lucas and I finally got out of bed, he had to leave for a business meeting. I stayed at his house and worked on designs for our new house, Abby had almost finished them in the few days Lucas and I were gone.

When I felt like the house was going to be absolutely perfect, I closed the laptop and decided to go back to my place to check on everything.

When I pulled up to my house, hammy, the big orange cat, was sitting in front of the door. I unlocked the door and pushed it open for him to go inside.

After I had gotten a bowl of milk out for the cat, I sat down on the couch and turned on the tv.

I felt my phone vibrate from my back pocket,

Are you still at my place?

No I'm at my house.

I texted Lucas back, I got up off the couch and started cleaning the house to occupy myself until Lucas got here.

When everything was clean I went to sit outside, my father was pulling into the driveway. I walked out to his police car.

"What's up, dad?"

My dad sighed.

"Eric's out on probation."

I folded my arms across my chest.

"Why did they let him out?"

"I guess he was on drugs real bad, the judge agreed to out patient rehab."

What if he tries to come after me again?

"Is there a no contact order?"

My dad shook his head, this met Eric could get in contact with me and not get into trouble for it.

"I have to get back to the station. I'll see you later, is Lucas still staying with you?"

"Actually he's building me a house." I smiled.

"No kidding? Have fun with that." My dad chuckled. I gave him a quick hug through the window of his car and walked back to my house. I watched through the curtains until the car pulled out of the driveway.

I picked my phone up and called Lucas, he answered before the second ring.

"Hello?"

"Can you please hurry up and come home?" I asked.

"What's wrong? I'm on my way."

"My dad stopped by, they let Eric out of jail."

"Be there in 5." Lucas said before he hung up the phone.

I went back outside and sat on the swing, when Lucas pulled into the driveway he got out of the car and walked up the steps to me.

Knowing Eric was out of jail scared me, but I felt safe with Lucas.
