Chapter Twenty
"I can't believe him," Sadie said about thirty minutes later. Whenever I'd barged into her hotel room, Sadie had been sitting on her bed with her legs crossed, applying make up and Jase had been in the shower.
I'd shown her Drew's texts and told her how upset I was, even though I had no idea why I was upset. Maybe I wasn't upset. Maybe I was just pissed because Drew still thought he had the right to act like he still owned me.
Now we were walking down the hallway towards the elevator, both of us dressed and ready to go. I'd finished getting ready in her bedroom while I told her about everything.
"Y'all going down to the lobby?"
We both turned around, Lyle and Cealy walking towards us. Sadie nodded her head. "It's almost time to head out, right?"
Lyle nodded, but I didn't notice because my eyes were fixed on Cealy. Usually she would stare at me straight on and give me extremely bitchy looks, but not today. Right now she wouldn't even make eye contact with me.
As we waited for the elevator, I turned my complete attention to her, my lips pursed. "So I just got eight texts from Drew. He was cussing me out because someone told him that I fucked Kiptyn."
Lyle let out a low whistle. "Seriously?"
We all stepped into the elevator as I nodded. Lyle shook his head. "You two broke up though. Why does he even care?"
"You guys broke up?" Cealy asked, speaking up for the first time.
"Yeah obviously you didn't know that when you decided to tell him that Kiptyn and Dallis fucked," Sadie spat, "Which she already told you didn't even happen."
Cealy's eyes widened at Sadie's outburst. "I-I didn't know."
"Wait, babe," Lyle said, glancing at Sadie, "You told Drew?"
I hadn't really known for sure, but I knew something was up with her. God I could have punched her in the face for creating even more drama in my life.
"I didn't realize you two had broken up," She looked at me and I could tell that she was sincere, "I'm friends with him so I just wanted to warn him."
"You're friends with Drew? Since when?" Lyle asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
The elevator dinged whenever we arrived on the first floor and I followed Sadie out of it, smilling to myself. She created a problem for me, and now that problem was obviously going to bite her in the ass considering Lyle didn't sound too happy.
He bitched at her the entire way out to the car.
The gig went really well, so well that they ended up doing three encores. Usually I would mind if they decided to keep performing for an extra hour, but for some reason I didn't at all this time. I guess it was because I stood in the front row, danced my ass off with Sadie, and made extremely flirtatious eye contact with Kiptyn whenever I could.
Yeah he'd been a slight asshole earlier, but I found myself forgiving him for anything rather easily.
Now we were already back at the hotel so Kiptyn and I decided to take another night swim. I'd changed into a bikini as soon as we got back and by the time I got to the pool, Kiptyn was already doing laps.
I dropped my things on a lounge chair and couldn't help but get a sense of deja vu as I dove into the warm water. I swam over to the other side of the pool until I reached Kiptyn, my stomach clenching whenever he flashed me a crooked grin.
"This is becoming a regular occurence for us."
I smiled. "This is only our second swim session."
