 Chapter Three

"God," Sadie started, taking a sip of her Diet Coke, "I can't believe you guys got in another fight about it."
I shrugged, popping a fry into my mouth. "I just don't understand why the physical stuff is such a big deal to guys."
"Well it is pretty great," Sadie smirked.
I rolled my eyes. "I don't even know why I talk to you about this stuff. You've been having sex since you were ten."
Sadie laughed, her brown eyes shinning. "Okay, that is definitely not true and you know it."
I couldn't help but smile, leaning against the table. "It still really grosses me out that you lost your virginity to my brother."
A small smile made it's way onto Sadie's face, her eyes landing on her plate. Sometimes Sadie wanted nothing more than to talk about Austin, but other times, I could tell that it hurt her to talk about it. I mean, she was still really into him.
I don't blame Austin for a lot, but I do blame him for breaking my best friend's heart. She'd liked him for a really long time, and he finally started showing her some attention our junior year. I was pretty sure that he was really into her, especially whenever he had sex with her the second time, which was unheard of whenever it came to Austin. They'd been like friends with benefits, but they also hung out all the time. I really thought it would go somewhere with them.
Until he decided that he didn't want Sadie anymore, and he decided to move onto different girls.
She'd been bat shit crazy ever since, having sex with God knows who, and leading on poor guys that would never be able to catch her. Jase included.
"Why don't you just do it?" Sadie asked, changing the subject.
I leaned back in my seat, raising an eyebrow. "Do what?"
She grabbed one of the straggling fries off of my plate. "Have sex with him. I mean, it's not like you guys aren't in a meaningful relationship."
"I don't know," I brushed my hair behind my ear.
Sadie gave me a knowing look. "You won't be bad at it, Dallis."
My cheeks immediatley turned red at the fact that she read my mind. "You don't know that."
She nodded her head. "Trust me, if you're half as good as your brother, you are going to surprise the jiz out of Drew."
My nose wrinkled at her disgusting imagery, causing her to laugh. "You are disgusting, really."
 "I second that."
I grinned whenever I saw Jase, sliding into the booth beside Sadie and slinging an arm around her shoulder.
"What is it with you and interrupting our conversations lately?" Sadie asked, giving Jase a look.
He shrugged. "Wrong place at the right time? Right place at the wrong time? Or is it right place at the right time?"
I couldn't help but laugh at Jase, his notorious beanie still perched on top of his head. He looked precious in his khaki shorts and short sleeve striped button up, a pair of flip flops on his feet. Usually I would think an outfit like that was digusting, but it was so Jase.
"What are you even doing here?" I asked, giving Jase a look, "This is a burger place and you're a vegetarian."
As if right on que, Lincoln Hemp was standing beside our table, breathless. "There you are."
 Jase grinned. "Here I am."
Before she said anything to Jase, she gave me and Sadie a small wave. "Hey guys."
"Hi," we both responded in unusion.
"Why were you looking for me? I told Lyle I was gonna go talk to my woman," Jase said.
Sadie groaned. "I'm not your woman."
"We go on in ten minutes and Kiptyn needs your help setting up," Lincoln said, giving Jase a look. I could tell my the way she was talking that she was stressed, her usually calm eyes suddenly wild.
"Y'all are playing here?" I asked, looking over at Lincoln.
She let out a breath and gave me a small smile, pushing her long brown hair back from her face. "Yes, and it's going to be hell."
"Why?" Sadie asked as Jase pressed a kiss to her cheek before getting up.
"We leave tomorrow at six in the morning," Jase said, throwing an arm over Lincoln's shoulder, "And Miss OCD here is stressing majorly."
"I'm not stressing," She sighed, "I'm just worried."
Jase rolled his eyes. "Same thing."
"I thought you'd be happy about something this great," I said, raising my eyebrows.
Lincoln gave Jase a look. "Not when the boys just now decided to tell me that Cealy O'Connor is coming."
Me and Sadie both grimaced, Cealy's bitchy attitude immediatley popping into my brain.
 "Why is she going?"
"Lyle doesn't want to be that far away from her for that long," Lincoln said, rolling her eyes, "I am dreading it."
Personally, I couldn't believe that Lyle was even still dating someone like Cealy. He was always the calmest person in the band, so it surprised me that he would be with someone as uptight as Cealy.
The band had been around since our tenth grade year. It started when Lincoln, who had Lana Del Rey like vocals, realized that Kiptyn could play the hell out of the drums. She pretty much bribed him into joining the band, and not long after, they found Jase and Lyle.
They'd been Crossing Lincoln ever since.
There was a pause before Jase's eyes lit up, a huge smile forming on his face. "You guys should come!"
I looked over at Sadie, her eyebrows raised. Lincoln automatically nodded her head. "You guys really should. There's still two seats left in Lyle's SUV, and it would be awesome if you guys came. Then I'd actually have nice girls to talk to."
I shook my head. "I don't really know how being in a car with Kiptyn Cross would go."
"He's really not that bad once you get to know him," Lincoln said, "He's actually a sweetheart."
"Come on babes, live a little!"
"I'm not going without Dallis," Sadie said, looking over at me.
I shrugged. "Looks like we're not going. But thanks for the offer."
They both sighed, giving looks of defeat. Whenever Lincoln saw Lyle motioning from the back of the restaurant, she turned to look at us one last time.
"If you guys change your minds, we're leaving from Jase's house at six."
"Thanks, Lincoln," Sadie said as Lincoln turned to walk away, pulling down her high waisted shorts as she did so.
"I wish you guys would come," Jase said, poking his bottom lip out.
"Just come here and give me a goodbye kiss," Sadie said, grabbing Jase's hand and yanking him towards her. He grinned, placing a long kiss on her lips.
Whenever they were done, he gave me a wave and jogged towards the back of the restaurant. I turned back to Sadie and sighed.
 "Can we leave?"
"You don't want to hear them play?"
I shook my head. "I want to take a nap before this dinner with my parents."
She gave me a look. "We just ate dinner."
"I wasn't going to eat my mom's tofu, no way in hell."
We both stood up from the table. "Doesn't she think that's your favorite?"
 I fake gagged. "Unfortunately."
We headed out towards the parking lot. "Good luck."
