Chapter Fifteen
"I am fucking exhausted," Kiptyn muttered from his position on my bed. Or at least I'd already claimed it as my bed considering my bag was sitting on top of it. So I really had no idea who died and made him king of beds that I'd already claimed.
After an extremely late show the previous night, getting up at eleven to leave for Dallas had been a serious struggle for everyone. The band did three encores, so we didn't even leave the actual place they were perfoming at until almost three in the morning. And then we had almost four hours of driving on top of that.
It was just so physically and mentally draining. Sure, it was beautiful to see all of the different cities that we passed through. But at the same time, I was tired. I probably could have slept for days straight and we weren't even done with the trip yet.
I'd just finished showering because I always felt disgusting after the drive to a new city. I had dressed in the bathroom in a simple teal strapless dress. My hair was still wrapped in a towel on top of my head and my feet were bare. Since it was just Kiptyn in the room, I was curious as to where Lincoln and Sadie had wandered off to. Luckily the gig was later tonight at around ten, so they could all take naps before the actual performance.
"Why are you on my bed?" I whined, beginning to towel dry my hair.
Kiptyn chuckled into my pillow, yes my pillow, and shrugged. "It's comfy."
I rolled my eyes. "This isn't even your room."
Kiptyn rolled over onto his back and had a grimace on his face. "Sadie and Jase are screwing in my room right now."
My nose immediatley scrunched up. "Ew."
Kiptyn suddenly grinned and raised his eyebrows. "We could too, ya know. I would go easy on you."
I narrowed my eyes at him but the butterflies made their way into my stomach anyway. "Definitely not."
"Oh come on, princess," His grin widened, "You gotta lose it some time."
"And now is not that time."
I was pretty sure if he grinned any bigger his face would split in half. "I'll change your mind eventually."
I glared at him. "Why do you always insist on bringing up sex? Can we not just have a normal conversation?"
He smirked. "Have we ever had a normal conversation?"
I let out a breath and turned back to the mirror, beginning to run my fingers through my blonde hair. I'd missed my scheduled haircut while I'd been on this whole road trip thing so my hair was disgustingly long and stringy.
I watched Kiptyn's reflection in the mirror as he sat up on the bed, his eyes on mine. "Just because I apologized for everything, doesn't mean that I'm going to stop being an asshole."
"I've noticed."
He shrugged. "It's just who I am."
I turned to look at him. "Some girls might really like the whole brooding asshole thing, but it doesn't really do much for me."
"Is that so?" He asked as his eyebrows shot up.
I nodded my head, leaning back against the dresser. "I do like a challenge, though."
Kiptyn's smirk immediatley fell back into place on his lips. "Sounds like you're flirting with me, princess."
I knew my cheeks were growing hot, because I was flirting with him and this was so unlike me and it had only been a week since the whole break up with Drew. But I couldn't help it. I never thought it would happen, but I was attracted to Kiptyn Cross, assholeness and all. I don't know if it was because of how close we'd been or if we really had always had sexual tension like everyone said, but whatever it was, it was happening.
