When I get home, I plop down in my extremely fuzzy chair to do homework. It's so annoying how every year the homework the school gives you is paperwork and signing to do. All of a sudden, I feel a strange vibration on my stomach. As I reach in my sweatshirt pocket, I am relieved to find that it is only my phone with an incoming call.
"Hello?" I say.
"Hi, Raelin! It's Jayden. I was wondering if you wanted to sleep over tonight?" Jayden asks.
"Um one sec. I have to ask my mom," I say.
I hold the phone to my chest while I yell down to my mom.
"Mom! Can I sleep over at Jayden's house tonight?" I yell down the stairs.
"Sure, honey. Tell Jayden's mom I said hi. Okay?" my mom yells back.
Happily, I pick up the phone again.
"Jayden? My mom said I could come over," I said.
"Yay, yay, yay! We are gonna have so much fun!" she says excitedly.
"Okay. I guess I'll see you at 4," I say.
"Okey dokey," Jayden says.
I quickly throw some clothes in a bag and head out the door to walk down to Jayden's house. Forget homework. When I get there, Jayden quickly opens the door and pulls me in.
"Whoa! Calm down," I say.
"No way! My parents have just left the house and I have planned for us to go to a party!" she says excitedly.
"Um, one thing: I don't wanna go and I didn't bring party clothes," I give as an excuse.
"Don't worry. I got you covered," Jayden says with a smirk on her face.
