Chapter 14

"Why was your day bad?"

"I dont know."

Awkward moment of silence.

"I saw Wren. Do you talk to him often?"

"No he doesn't talk to me anymore."

"Why not? What happened?"

"Nothing really. Just like when 'i walk past him, I can tell he knows i'm there, but he just ignores me. I don't know why. And all he does is hang out with 6th graders. I mean, he is 13 so hang out with people your own age!"

"Yea. But remember, he is still in 6th grade so he is going to act like the other 6th graders."

"Grow up dude."

"Calm down. Just act like you don't care and then he will notice."

"Ok."

Say something i'm giving up on you. Yes. Thats right. I'm giving up. Once I decided on this, I felt a huge weight being lifted off of my shoulders. Im free! Now what? Now I enjoy life at its fullest. First of all, I was really excited because I was having a friend over that I hadn't seen in years! But, before the first, I had to call her. So I reached into my pocket and pulled out my cellular device:) I dialed the number and waited.

"Hello?" Hayley said

"Hi Hayley its Raelin."

"Oh hey whats up?"

"Well I was just curious if you wanted to come over right now?"

"One sec let me ask my mom."

"Ok."

I listen as I hear her ask her mom. A few seconds later, she picks the phone back up.

"Sure I can come over."

"Ok see you in a little bit!"

I hang up the phone and put it back into my pocket. Finally, something to do! Hmm befor she comes over, I might as well finish my homework. Not fun but it needs to be done.

After ten mineuts of finishing my homework, I finally heard the doorbell ring. So, I got up from my room and ran towards the door.

"Hi Hayley!" I say

"Hi! We haven't seen each other in forever!!"

"I know its good we were both free today."

"So what do you want to do first?"

"I don't know its up to you. We could go outside or something."

"Lets do that a little later. But first, lets go to my room and I can text all of your friends!"

"Oh no Raelin and phones not a good match."

"heh heh heh"

All of a sudden I start running through the house, up the stairs, and onto my bed. A few seconds after, I hear Hayley coming after me. But, by that time, I had already started texting.

"Hmmm I think that I will text Brandon first."

Hayley comes in and plops down next to me. BRING

"Oo he texted back already. What does it say?"

I read it aloud: Who is this

"Raelin we should try to confuse him!"

"Ok."

I texted back: This is Raelin I go to your school. You know me, the hot blonde?

"What did you write?"

Hayley grabs the phone and looks closely.

"Oh my got Raelin! I cant believe you wrote that!"

"I know!"

The phone beeped again and I looked over toward the screen which was sitting in Hayleys hand.

It said: ?

We both start laughing uncontrollabley until we can't laugh anymore.

"Lets not text him back yet. We can pause the conversation and leave him in confusion!"

"Fine fine. Oh my gosh all this laughter has left me half dead. Hey im going to finish my homework. Do you want a yearbook to look at?"

"Sure."

So, I walk over to my closet and grab the yearbook. Then, I grab my whole backpack to do my homework. I put the yearbook down on the bed and then plop down next to it.

"Why does math have to be so complicated?"

"Oh my gosh! Look at the tiny Brett!"

"I know right. A couple days ago he told me that he wanted to be called Jurone! I didn't know what to say!"

"Ha thats funny."

"Christian's chubby cheeks!"

"He is sooo tall now, im like half his size."

"I thought that might happen."

We have a moment of silence as we are both engrossed in our idems.

"Sooo do you have a boyfriend?"

"No do you?"

"No. Well do you like anyone?"

"Ummm no?"

"Hmm interesting."

Phew she bought it. Did I like anyone? It was hard to tell. My mind says NO but my heart says YES.
