"WHAT?!" I yodeled so loud that my dog woke up from a deep sleep.
"That's right, it's happening! For your 16th birthday we're leaving for California, tomorrow! And by we're, I mean not just us but two friends of yours too." my mom replied with the toothiest grin i've ever seen painted on her face.
Before I knew it, I was in her arms giving her a big bear hug and yelling the words thank you repeatedly. I've wanted to to California for years now and it's all I truly wanted for my 16th birthday and now it's actually happening!
After removing myself from my mom's embrace, I took out my phone to call the two lucky bastards joining me on this trip, my best friends Lyndsey and Jeremy. I quickly dialed Lyndsey's number and tapped my foot anxiously as I waited for her to answer.
"You rang?" she said sassily.
"LYNDSEY I CAN'T BREATHE, IT'S HAPPENING" I screamed into the phone.
"What's happening? Did you get your period or something?" She asked and I rolled my eyes.
"No dumby, we're going to California!" I replied, noticing i'm starting to shake in excitement.
"wHAT?!" she exclaimed and then I heard a crash, she must have dropped her phone along with her jaw.
I giggled as I heard her footsteps in the background as she retrieved the phone.
"IS THIS SOME SORT OF JOKE BECAUSE IF IT IS-" "NO I SWEAR ON MY LIFE I'M TELLING THE TRUTH," I cut her off.
"You, Jeremy, my mom, and I are leaving for California tomorrow so go inform your parents and get your butt over here, you need to help me pack." I said and laughed as I heard the phone drop once more, followed by her piercing screams and her parents groans.
I hung up on her and then dialed Jeremy's number.
"Hello?" I hear a raspy and bored voice reply on the other line.
"I've got something to tell you" I sung and I heard him sigh.
"Can it wait? I'm watching glee and in this episode Blaine and Kurt-"
"YOU'RE COMING WITH ME TO CALIFORNIA!" I blurted, I didn't have time to listen to him go on about Glee again.
"OH MY GOD YOUR MOM SAID YES?" he replied, I could hear the happiness in his voice and it made me smile.
"YES PRAISE LIL B, NOW GO TELL YOUR DAD TO DROP YOU OFF NOW BECAUSE WE'RE LEAVING TOMORROW K BYE." I said quickly and hung up the phone.
I fell backwards on to my bed and smiled a real smile, something very rare for me these days.
"This is going to be the best birthday ever." I whispered to myself and held my stomach to try and contain the butterflies taking over my insides.
~Okay, this is just the first chapter and the story is going to be a little slow at first but I promise the chapters will get longer and it will get better :~))
