"Nice." I whispered, impressed as I looked at the sleek silver Subaru the boys pulled up in.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." Boy #1 boasted with a toothy white grin and Lyndsey and I rolled our eyes simultaneously.
"You're funny if you think i'm stepping foot in this car without knowing your names." Lyndsey laughed as we both walked up to the car and stood in front of it.
"If you muuuust know," Boy #1 started with a chuckle.
"I'm Connor, and my friend here is Max." he concluded as Max waved at us from the passenger seat.
"Now, hop in." Connor said patting the side of his car.
Max shifted his seat forward so Lyndsey and I squeeze past him and into the back of the car and I quietly thanked him after doing so.
He then shifted his seat back to normal and I heard the engine of the car roar as Connor started the car. I could tell Connor was one of those kind of guys that are obsessed with their car by the way he stroked the steering wheel and slapped Max's hand when he tried eating a bag of chips from the glove compartment. I never understood that obsession, but when it came to this car, it was an exception.
"Sit tight, the word slow is not a part of my vocabulary." Connor spoke loudly over the engine before putting the car into drive and sending us soaring out of the hospital parking lot.
"HOW ABOUT SPEED LIMIT, IS THAT IN YOUR VOCABULARY?" I yelled as I was slammed back up against the seat and my hair flew in every which direction due to the open window.
"You'll grow to love it." Connor replied.
Believe it or not, he was right. After a minute of prying my hair and Lyndseys out of my face, I felt good, really good. A smile began to appear on my face and I looked to my left and right and saw all of the bright city lights of LA shining and the full moon in the sky being the brightest of them all.
All of a sudden, Chloe by Emblem 3 came on the radio and that was it, I lost it. This song was my guilty pleasure.
Lyndsey and I screamed our lungs out through out the whole song and by the time it ended, we had arrived to our destination.
"Never thought the day would come where i'd see two girls in my backseat about to throw themselves out a window because of a song." Connor smirked and we flipped our hair as we emerged out of the car and put our rats nest of hair into buns.
"Wow." was all I could say as I looked in front of me at the humongous fair that stood in front of me.
The big ferris wheel, the roller coasters, the game booths, the smell of popcorn and cotton candy, everything that a fair could ever offer was right here.
"Fireball anybody?" Connor offered and Lyndsey's hand shot up in anticipation.
"Thank gOD someone wants to, little Maxxie over here doesn't like big rides." Connor added with a roll of his eyes and Max looked down shyly.
"I don't like them either, do I get a sappy nickname?" I teased, causing his lips to curl up into a smile.
"If only I knew your names." he sighed pathetically and Lyndsey and I laughed.
