"What?" Max yelled over the music.

I sighed and then put his hands on my hips and began swaying my hips to the best of my ability to Love More by Chris Brown. I honestly didn't know what I was doing and i'm not sure why I was so confident. This is just how i've seen these kind of things go in the movies, not to mention my anger was probably playing a big part in this.

Max went all bug eyed as he looked down at me and then at his hands on my waist. He stood stiffly for a minute and I felt my hands start to shake. I was nervous that he wouldn't dance with me, then my whole plan would blow up in my face. Not to mention, who wants to be rejected by a cute boy?

Much to my relief, he began dancing as well and he was surprisingly really good, better than I was that's for sure.

I gave him an approving smile and then looked over his shoulder at Luke who had his eyes glued on me.

I watched as he stared at me and my apparel and then quickly focused back on Brianna who looked like she was talking to him.

I saw his dimple appear on his face and I bit my cheek, that damn dimple is my weakness.

I turned back to Max as the song ended and he had a big cheesy and genuine smile on his face.

I danced with Max for what seems like years, but in reality, it was only another three or four songs. I couldn't quite tell if dancing with Max was helping my case, but for a moment, I could have swore of saw a familiar look in Luke's eyes, and that can't mean nothing right?

"You're a great dancer." I yelled into Max's ear.

"You are too." "It's okay, you don't have to lie." I replied causing him to chuckle.

"No i'm serious, you got da moves." he said and I laughed.

"Thank you, i'm here all night." I said and fake winked at him.

It was nice spending time with Max. Him and I have a lot in common and he's just an all around sweetheart. Also, he has helped me get my mind off of Jeremy by hanging out with me which is a big plus.

"Do you want another beer?" "Yes please." I answered.

As he walked away, it uncovered my view of the far side of the room and in the corner stood... Ashton?

"Ashton?" I asked myself in disbelief.

I pushed past multiple groups of people and over to where Ashton was. Once I had reached the corner, I blinked and realized, Ashton wasn't there at all.

"What the.." "You would have had more luck escaping from me through the back window." Max joked as he showed up behind me and handed me the beer.

"No, I wasn't trying to escape.... I thought..... but I saw..... never mind, it must be the alcohol." I concluded and took a big sip of my beer.

He looked worried and asked me if I was okay about three times as we walked to one of the couches on the far side of the room and I assured him I was.

We plopped down on  the couch and I watched as the party continued to get more chaotic and chaotic as the night went on. In one corner, I saw a mix of extremely tan and fit girls and boys playing beer pong off a table, and then in the other, a group of girls with bikinis on danced on another table with their cups lifted high in the air and their bodies moving in sync with the music.

"So, this is what a party is like." I stated as I continued to look over everyone.

"Never been to one?" "The town i'm from isn't very exciting, and all the parties that do go on involve hardcore drugs, well, at least so i've heard, i've never been invited to one." I said with a sigh, realizing how much of a sad excuse for a teenage I was.
