"Ouch, loosen the grip will ya?" Molly complained as I dragged her up the stairs of the house, pushing my way past what seemed like hundreds of hormonal and wasted teens.
Once we reached my room, I released my hand from her wrist and rushed over to my suitcase, frantically throwing almost all of its contents out of it.
"Wha- what are you doing? Are you okay?" Molly asked as she rubbed her now sore wrist.
"I can't just let him do this to me, especially not after he told me he would never do it." I muttered loud enough so she could hear me as I continued to rummage through my clothes.
"I'm sorry.." I heard her speak and my heart tensed up for a minute.
"Don't be, you did nothing wrong." I replied honestly as I got up and gave her a hug.
"Now, what in the name of Michael's hair are you doing?" she questioned and I couldn't help but to let out a little giggle at her use of 5sos.
"I... I wanted to try and show him that I can fight back and i'm not going to just sit back and watch as he hurts me." I almost stuttered.
"So basically you want to get all dressed up and hot so you can make him jealous like he's doing to you." Molly concluded and I nodded.
"It's no use though considering the only dress I brought he's already seen me in and the wrest of my clothes are 535 year old stained hoodies and jeans." I sighed.
"I have an idea." Molly beamed and I cocked my head as she ran over to her bag.
My jaw dropped as she pulled out the black dress we bought the other day at the mall and she handed it to me.
"Put it on." "Bu-" "No buts, do it ya nugget." Molly cut me off and I shrugged and walked into the bathroom.
The dress was the cutest dress ever, not too long or not too too short. It defined the little curves I had and actually made me look like I had more cleavage that I definitely didn't have in the first place.
I walked out of the bathroom and Molly yodeled in approval then handed me tights to put underneath them.
I decided I wanted to wear my combat boots with them, but Molly insisted I wear heels. After five minutes or so about arguing about it, I finally gave in and slid them on. They weren't the comfiest, but they did go great with the dress.
After another 10 minutes of doing my hair, putting on makeup, and adding some jewelry, I was finally presentable and I was proud of Molly and I's work. (link to outfit in comments)
Molly had decided to doll herself up for the hell of it as well and she was looking fierce as hell. (link also in the comments.)
"Are you ready?" Molly asked.
That was a good question because I really didn't know. Part of me wanted to just jump into bed and go sleep until it was time to go back to Florida, but the other part of me was ready to show Luke i'm not going to crumble and want to have a good time. Thank god that part of me won.
I nodded as confidently as I could and we walked out of the room and back down the stairs.
Peoples' eyes darted to the two of us as we made our way down the stairs and I could have swore we got at least 10 wolf whistles. It was odd getting all of this positive attention, but I would be lying if I said I didn't like it.
I looked around the room and decided I really didn't want to dance with any of these drunk creeps I don't know, but I did know some creeps that I would be willing to dance with.
I pulled out my phone from a little bag I had hanging off my shoulder and dialed Max's number. After the first two rings, I heard his voice, but I could have swore I heard it twice.
"Hello?" "Hey, where are you guys?" I asked as I plugged a finger into my other ear to hear him better.
"AT AN AWESOME AS FUCK PARTY!" I heard Connor yell and I almost jumped as I heard him scream through the phone and....... in the house?
"Wait... you guys are.." "Surprise." Max chimed and I knitted my eyebrows before looking to my left and seeing him and Connor standing in the arch way leading to the kitchen.
I quickly hung up my phone and turned to pull Molly over to them with me, but she was gone, where is everyone going?
I shrugged and shuffled over to Connor and Max as best of my ability in these heels.
"Damn, Shanny." Connor smirked as he looked me up and down and I rolled my eyes with a laugh.
"You look.... woah." Max said in a much softer and sincere tone and I thanked him with a smile.
"How did you guys know about the party?" "How does one not know about this party?" Max responded and I laughed.
"We have a mutual friend with Calum and they told us about it as we were heading home." Connor said and then bent down, grabbing three beers from the huge cooler next to him in the kitchen.
He handed one to Max and held one out to me. I went to grab it only for him to pull it away and stick his tongue out at me, I flicked him off.
"Here." he said with a chuckle and I snatched the can from his hand.
I've never really liked the smell of beer, let alone like it all. But, i'm going to need some alcohol in my system if i'm going to make it through tonight.
I opened the can and took a big swig of the drink, causing Connor to give me an approving look and Max, i'm not so sure. But he brushed that look off quickly and then opened his as well, taking almost as big of a gulp as me.
"Hey Shannon, I need to talk to you." I heard someone say and then a hand touch my shoulder.
I turned around to see Calum and I nodded at him.
I told Connor and Max I would be right back and then followed Calum outside on to the pool deck, which was completely empty beside a few people making out in the hot tub.
"I'm worried about the boys." Calum confessed as we sat down on the pool chairs.
"Why?" "While you and Lyndsey were at the fair, everyone was a wreck. Luke became anxious and fidgety to a whole new level, Ashton began to grow angry, and Molly and Michael even had some drama going on." Calum said.
"What happened after that?" I asked, curious about what happened.
"Michael made a smart ass comment about you and Lyndsey being idiots or something and then Molly fought him on it for a good 10 minutes, at the end of that argument Molly stopped speaking to him or even looking at them so since then Michael has been hanging out in the kitchen alone, drinking beer after beer and jesus. Ashton seemed to grow more pissed off and pissed off about how no one was answering their phones. He tried to stay as calm as he could, but it seems every little thing bothered him, even the shaking of Luke's leg set him off and he yelled and got us kicked out of the hospital for 'disrupting the guests'. And Luke, Luke was just a nervous mess the whole time, that is until we arrived at the fair and he saw you and that guy. From that point on, all his shakiness stopped and he's been acting.... different.... he's never been like this.." Calum concluded and I gulped.
What Calum said explains a lot. Now I know why Michael was so mad at me for not answering my phone, it was because it caused him to make a rude comment and now Molly wasn't talking to him. I haven't really seen Ashton or Lyndsey around yet, but now I know they must not stand at a good point. And, Luke.... I feel horrible that he was so nervous and worried.... and it scares me how he's acting different now, different than he ever has before.
"Oh god." I said and burried my head in my hands.
Calum threw his arm around my shoulder and sighed as he rubbed my shoulder trying to comfort me.
"Do you think they'll be okay?" "I hope so.." Calum replies and I can feel myself almost start to tear up.
I looked behind me through the window to see Connor dancing with a bunch of girls in the middle of the living room with his hands thrown in the air in pleasure as Max stood near him, quietly sipping his beer.
I froze as I looked behind them and saw Luke smiling with Brianna as they almost grinded up against each other.
"What the fuck!" I screamed into my hands.
I peaked threw my fingers to see Calum turned in the same direction I was, and his eyes grew wide as he saw what I saw.
"Shit..." Calum cursed under his breath and I felt him shift back to look at me.
"Is this why you got all dressed up?" he asked and I looked up at him with a nod and then ran my hand through my hair with a deep breath.
"I think you should do it." "Really?" I asked, shock clear in my voice.
"Yeah... I don't think i'd be able to snap him out of this. You got him into this, you have to be the one to pull him out. I'll try and comfort Mikey and i'll look for Ash." he said.
"You're right... okay." "You can do it." he said and gave me a big comforting hug, Calum hugs are the best kind of hugs.
He released me and then walked back into the house with me at his heels.
I felt weak in the knees as I took another big sip of the beer I still held in my hand and then felt the alcohol begin to kick in a little.
I began feeling more sad than angry and I was about ready to give this up and go lie in bed like I had planned before. I then realized I had spoke to soon as I look over at Luke and he looked me dead in the eyes, giving me a look I never thought i'd recieve from him as he danced with Brianna.
My anger and jealous returned and came in at an all time high. I clutched my beer can tightly and gritted my teeth as I pushed past other party goers and made my way over to where Connor and Max were standing.
I took my last sip of the beer before dropping the can on the ground and stood right in front of Max.
"Dance with me."
