Once we left Dusk Manor it was hard saying goodbye to my sister knowing I won't see her until we come back which was in 4 months. I'll be turning 16 and the sad part is I won't be with her on that day.
Anyways, we were up high in the sky going around the land of Dusk Manor and flew out of the area as mother held my one hand giving me a small squeeze. I smile down at our hands and look out the window and see Wolf Springs High below, knowing Carter was still there until tomorrow. I finally remembered that I didn't get to say goodbye to him or even tell him that I was allowed to go be with him for half of the summer so I instantly turned to my mother hoping she'll let me do this one thing I needed to do.
"Mother, I know this year I wasn't my best, I changed things around and sorta made things terrible. So I want to thank you for doing all you can this entire year. Not for me but for Shay as well. But what I'm trying to say is that may we turn around and land on Wolf Springs so I can tell my boyfriend that I love him, to say a final goodbye until the middle of summer which I'll be going to see him thanks to you." I politely ask when she quickly smiled at me and turning the helicopter around.
"Anything for you my dear, you worked hard this year and you girls been through so much. At least I can do this for you. But it's hard on me at the same time because you girls found the love of you're life's here, you're growing up into beautiful strong independent women and at one point I'm going to have to let yous go." She choked still holding onto my hand. I gulp down the large lump in my throat and showed her a great smile.
"I love you mother."
"I love you most Denice."
Once we landed behind the school I instantly unbuckle my seatbelt turning to my mom to thank her.
"Be back in 20, or I'm leaving you." She teased releasing the sudden hug. I laugh and jump out of the helicopter running towards the school hoping to find Carter. Once I got inside I ran straight for the gym hoping to find him but only ended up seeing Cade gathering up his gym wear.
"Denice, what are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be flying home?" He asked greeting me with a hug.
"I am, but I needed to see Carter before I leave. Since I didn't get to say goodbye today." I reply letting him go.
"You just missed him, he went to his room to start packing. He's hurt knowing you didn't say goodbye today but I'm sure you'll surprise him." He smiled rubbing my shoulder.
"Yeah I know, that's why I'm here. But thanks, I better get going. Have a good summer Cade, see you in the fall." I smile giving him once last hug and ran off towards Carters room.
As soon as I got there I quickly opened the door, making it fly hard against the wall and see Carter sitting on the floor with red eyes, when he looked up at me.
