Ch7: Learning Something New

I was getting dressed for hunting class In the dorm with my twin, talking about her new friend jake.

"So do you like jake?"

She laughed as she was braiding my hair back and replied.

"Shay don't be dumb of course I do"

I smiled and replied looking at her and shaking my head.

"No I meant do you like, like jake?"

She laughed even harder,

"Ooohhhh my bad, and no I don't. He's just a friend."

I smiled and we both headed to the door walking down towards the manor and towards the ball room. Once we entered a guy started running towards us it was Tobi. As he got closer he picked me up and gave me a big hug.

"Hey partner,"

I smiled and squeezed him back.

"Hi Tobi you ready to be defeated today."

We both laughed stopping when dee cleared her throat. I turned around and she was smirking at me.

"Oh Tobi this is my twin sister Denice, but you can call her dee, and sis this is my friend Tobias but you can call him Tobi."

They smiled at each other and shook hands.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Tobi."

Denice smiled Tobi returned the smile and replied

"Same to you dee."

Hunting class started and we all started practicing. Just as I was about to knock Tobi down I tripped over my shoe and flew into him. He caught me with his arms and stood me back up,

"Try again short stuff this time don't trip on the air."

I punched his shoulder and started laughing my cheeks blushing.

"Shut up Tobi!"

I tired again and finally took him down. Wrapping my legs around him and pretending to bite his neck.

"haha got you".

I helped him up and let him practice attacking me. we practiced for the whole class. Then we went to Mrs Alexander's class was pretty cool. Tobi and I sat by each other chatting and goofing off.

"Hey short stuff tell me about your self,"

I smiled and looked over at him,"

"Well I am a twin and um a vampire well almost. I never new my mom was a vampire. My parents hid that from me and my sister we didn't know anything. Until the letter appeared in our room saying we were accepted to dusk manor. Pretty sad that our parents would lie to us. Like I get they were trying to protect us but that's more reason to tell us isn't it?"

Tobi grabbed my hand and squeezed it rubbing his thumb over mine,

"they probably had there reasons for not telling you don't be to upset with them try and see it from their eyes."

I smiled and him and he let go of my hand.

"Tobi tell me about you?"

"Well I have a older sister who comes to this school. Both our parents are vampires so we knew from when we were small we would be coming here. I grew up in a small town west of dusk manor and that's pretty much about it."

We talked all of class learning about each other. We told some jokes and giggled until teacher shouted our names.

"Ms.Hastings, Mr. Delroy care to share with the class what your giggling about?"

I looked over at Tobi who spoke,

"No mam we apologize for being a distraction it won't happen again."

Mrs.alexander nodded her head and smiled,

"Thank you now back to work"

And we did work until class was over.
